Converts have to believe as you believe.By definition a convert believes what they are converting to. It is their choice to convert.
All the stuff you're talking about--food, clothes, etc.--shows an ignorance about "Mormon" beliefs, but those are just details.
This is the Church of Jesus Christ. It is His. He selects the leaders, He directs the Church. The Church functions toward its members just as Christ would Himself.
We have a lay priesthood. We have no priestly class; we have no paid clergy, there is not separation between "member" and "leader" other than his being set apart by the laying on of hands.
Our Bishop was released just last year, and he now teaches a Sunday Schoool class of eight year olds. Our new Bishop was a clerk before that. In a few years, he'll move on and another will take his place.
It's more egalitarian, and more organized for the edification of all, than any other organization that I know of.
You seem determined to see evil where there is only good. I'm sorry about that.

Given that the Church is international in scope, the we believe that it is righteous to be a good citizen in whichever country one resides. And some countries are led by kings. But, then, you know that, I'm sure..............

"I have a huge problem when any religious organization starts doing something like this with any Federal Law Enforcement or Intelligence Agency."
Perhaps you should take your concerns to your new governor, Mitt Romney, after the next election.........

Didn't mean to nit-pick. Your brother indeed was fortunate to have learned three languages in connection with his service in a trilingual mission. All the best.....

Ignorance? Not so...
Time To BoxThere is another choice, other than briefs and boxers, and that's the mystical "unionsuit" worn by Mormons. This week, Sen. Orrin Hatch (Utah, R), a Mormon who admits to always wearing the "sacred garments," has declared himself a candidate for the presidency. Would he wear them in the White House if elected? Probably, as the "sacred garments" have Masonic symbols embroidered on them, and everyone knows that supernatural underwear is much better than any ol' pair of drawers. How to Remove Your Name from the LDS RecordsAn excommunicated person is no longer a member of the Church, and all priesthood ordinances and temple blessings previously received are suspended. Excommunicants may not pay tithing and, if previously endowed in a temple, may not wear temple garments.I probably know more than I should, but why bother...
Got drawers BillinPigLatin?
And an FYI as far as Bible knowledge...the young "elder" and his friends who came to call, I'm sure you can find out who it was, said I was very knowledgeable and should consider ministry/missionary work.
You don't think he would lie to me do you?

Having fun in your "temple garments".
Laugh away. I don't generally like to make folks frown.
