July 15, 2002 -- Some congressional Republicans are hoping that Army Secretary Tommy White bites the bullet and resigns before he testifies this week at a Senate committee hearing on the collapse of Enron, according to a report in Newsweek.

I attribute Secretary White's remaining on the scene to date as both GW and Rumsfeld's loyalty to the man. I believe he will be quietly eased out by the time the new CSA comes on board next year. It'll be a whole new senior leadership team in the Army.
