HOUSTON (Reuters) - A Texas dentist has been charged with killing her orthodontist husband by repeatedly running over him with her Mercedes Benz, police say.
The couple had been arguing in a Houston hotel before the alleged attack on Wednesday night in which David Harris, 44, was struck three times as he tried to get into his own car, they said.
Clara Harris, 44, told reporters after she was arrested: "It was an accident."
Police said Thursday she told investigators she suspected her husband had been cheating and hired a private investigator who called her to the hotel to confirm it.
"She has admitted hiring a private investigation firm to follow her husband around. So there is some type of history," Nassau Bay Police Department spokesman Joe Cashiola told reporters.
The husband's 16-year-old daughter from a previous marriage was in the Mercedes with her step mother as the incident unfolded, police said.
The couple had separate dental practices and lived in a large home in an affluent Houston suburb, according to news reports.
A photo of the pair taken in happier times and posted on the Internet showed both had perfect smiles.
He must have had joint cuspidy.
She probably suffered from Bi-Cuspid Disorder.

"When questioned afterward about her husband's death, she replied '........no great floss'".

Sources said he didn't brace himself before the attack.
Parnham said he had advised Clara Harris ( the "other" woman)not to attend the funeral.

Wrong. Clara Harris is the scorned wife and defendent. However, since it seems that the deceased's daughter was also upset about his philandering, I think that it is only right that the "other woman" not be allowed to attend either. Think about the feelings of the children and other relatives! It takes two to tango. Even though the orthodontist stepped out of his marriage vows, he couldn't have done that without the wiling co-operation of the divorcee. so she should be banned from the funeral, as well.
I lived in Texas for about 10 years (20 years ago), and this scorned wife may receive sympathy from the court. If she'd killed him in bed with the divorcee, she might have gotten off.
What's up with the guy chasing a divorcee with three kids? I'd think a guy would go after a 20 something honey.
I think a lot of her patients are going to quickly send in a payment in the next couple of days......
