Although some of the details of Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton's visit to the area have not yet been released, local officials have confirmed two of her stops.

Melanie Stepp, president and CEO of the Geneva Area Chamber of Commerce, said Clinton is scheduled to arrive in Geneva at 3 p.m. Thursday, where she will have two private meetings at the chamber of commerce office - the first with city officials, the second with representatives from area chambers.

Stepp, plans to attend the second meeting and said she would like to speak to Clinton about the proposed Finger Lakes Institute and Gateway Center, which city officials are working on with representatives from Hobart and William Smith Colleges. The facility would showcase attractions throughout the Finger Lakes and serve as a learning laboratory for students.

Stepp has also spoken with members of the local tourism council about what they would like to hear about on the federal level. The biggest response has been from area winery owners, who want a dsicussion of reciprocal wine shipping among states.

The meetings will be followed by a public appearance at the gazebo, scheduled for 3:30 p.m., where Clinton is expected to speak to hundreds about Finger Lakes preservation.

"Although she has been to the area several times, she always draws a crowd," Stepp said.

From 5:30 to 7 p.m., she is scheduled to meet privately with business and community leaders in a Finger Lakes Economic Summit to exchange ideas.

It will be hosted by BonaDent Dental Laboratories in Seneca Falls, represented by President Bruce Bonafiglia. Also expected are Robert Pagano, president of ITT Industries/Goulds Pumps; Robert Rosenkrans, chairman of the Seneca County Industrial Development Agency; and Michael Smith, president of Finger Lakes Raceway.

You can bet the "Etiquette Squads" will show dissenters no etiquette, nor will they be saying "please", "thankyou",... and will be brandishing more than neatly folded napkins.

The question is, what do these sponsors hope to gain for their industries by inviting the Hildebeast and "promising" her a positive reception and press. She wouldn't attend if there weren't any closed door deals. It's less about the preservation of the Finger Lakes and more about business/politics.

If there are any protestors, they will be kept far away from Clinton and the media will ignore them. While she was campaigning for Senator here in upstate New York, she made appearances that were carefully calculated only to include her supporters. She was caught by surprise when she appeared before the New York City Fire Department and Police Department members and they heartily booed her. She will be very careful to see that this doesn't happen again.

I don't think she'll be there. This just in.

A bewigged, dejected, haggard -- and urine soaked -- Hillary Rodham Clinton is seen being led into Central Booking at the Washington, DC jail. Indicted for federal campaign funding violations, she had eluded authorities for several weeks. She was apprehended while attempting to hop a westbound Amtrak freight in the switching yards behind Union Station.

I still am glad the Hildabeast stays away from western NY. Probably still has a bad taste in her mouth after Tom Bowerly ravaged her on AM radio interview. Hope she runs in 04 so that she can show her deceit to NY's with her so called term commitment. We can only hope some really stinky dirt rises to the ocassion with her candidacy!

NY Freepers are lucky in the sense that they get the extreme pleasure of personally booing the hildabeast in person! Of course the downside to that is that she is your senator! Yuck!!!!

More details of the Hildbeast's itinery in today's paper:

Clinton's Thursday visit to the area will be part of a day of activities that will begin in Hornell, with a tour of the Alstom/Rolling Stock Americas headquarters, where subway cars are made. She and Hornell Mayor Shawn Hogan will also hold a news conference to discuss the $2.5 billion contract between Alstom and the New York City Metropolitan Transit Authority.

At 12:45 p.m., she will meet with Hammondsport Mayor Bob DeSeyn and local residents and community leaders.

Her stop in Geneva will include private meetings with Chamber members and with representatives of other area chambers of commerce.

After her public appearance, Clinton is scheduled to go to Seneca Falls, where she will meet at 5:30 p.m. with business and community leaders at BonaDent Dental Laboratories.

Sucking up to rural locals has to be the WORST part of Hillary's gig, as far as she's concerned.

The ratio of [ cash + votes / time spent ] has to be at the bottom of her little matrix.

If Incitatus , G-d forbid, ever makes it back to the White House, you can be sure she'll cite these trips as proof of her having slogged her way up from the bottom of the political world.

I am pre-deleting the balance of my remarks. :)
