I could have predicted this story. Here in LA, the sky can be as smoggy as all get out, but one decent sized storm cleans up the air. We have been getting zilch for rain, or even strong winds, so the air is just stagnating in the LA basin.
But never to worry,... we are supposed to have the opposite problem this fall. They are now anticipating a moderate sized El Nino, which equals flooding in California.

I drove through LA in 1990, I live here now. I can vouch for the fact that the air is about 99% cleaner now than 1990.

Kalifornia, isn't that where a lot of those enviro-mental cases live? Then the air should've been cleaned up a long time ago.

According to PIRG, California last summer had 130 days in which at least one such violation was reportedSummer is only about 91 days long. Given that, why should one believe any of these "statistics"?

As I recall from campaign 2000, Texas governor GW Bush was personally responsible for the air quality in his state. Will democrats use the same standard in California in 2002?
Of course not.

Most places are getting a lot more smog this summer than last summerYes....duh....and we're having three times as many forest fires here, too. She conveniently leaves that out.

so the air is just stagnating in the LA basin I'm hoping for a breath of fresh air around Nov. 5!
