Our Navy's most famous wooden sailing ship, the USS Consitutuin, was built with with timber from logs that had been sunk in a lake for seasoning.

I don't know about sinking the logs for seasoning, but our family used to have a ledger book recording the fact that we sold some timbers to a shipbuilder to be used in the masts of the USS Constitution.

Ah, you know about Wyatt already. I love the info on the Ark of the Covenant. I got to Wyatt from

http://www.finalfrontier.org.uk/

That guy is a doctor who has documented hundreds of near death experiences. First hand accounts of heaven and hell.

Cool website. Everything seems too perfect, though. Is this guy for real?

Well, it sure seems like it. Especially check out the Ark of the Covenant stuff. Right at the end it slams you between the eyes.

Anyway, his info seems to be documented well enough. Im convinced that usually the great historical mysteries aren't that complicated at all. People just have a morbid fascination with the 'unexplained' aura of something. It's usually a bunch of crap, and the explanation is not so complex.

Also, I think that anything that validates Jesus as Messiah of Israel is going to be automatically discounted by people who don't want to face Him as the Truth.

>WWCoG?

Sorry, WWCoG=World Wide Church… the Armstrong guy. They are very big on British Israelism.

I just took a look at your home page and saw that you say this is not what your views on this is about.

My apologies, I should have looked first.

Thanks for looking again at my FR Profile page to see that I definitely have nothing to do with British Israelism. They are as far off base in one direction as those on the other side who say The Lost Tribes don't exist.

With the discovery and translation of those Assyrian clay Tablets in the British Museum, I hope the folly on both sides have been put to rest and what happened to The Lost Tribes of Israel has been clearly and firmly established.

-Regards

The history of searching for the "ark" on Ararat has been a sordid tale of incompetence and fraud.

People should stop giving money to the various charletans claiming to have found it or almost found it....everything on Ararat consists of easily explained (and fairly common) geological formations. But, with a ready market of millions of people who really WANT an ark to be found, millions of dollars will be wasted on breathless documentaries and books.

SOUNDS WONDERFUL.

I have long felt it would be [RE-]"discovered" in an end time sequence of events. We shall see.

I remember as a kid going to see a theatrically released documentary on this topic. One of those (in)famous Shick/Sun flicks. (This was all before "In Search of..." came along.) The impression it left the viewer was: "As soon as the Cold War is over, we'll have an answer." I'm surprised this hasn't been resolved one way or another yet.

Question for everyone:
What will the press say when/if explorers find a big ship atop Ararat? Especially if it has remains of hay and animal dung.

The ancient proto-Celts lived in that area during that period. The media will call it evidence of ancient slave trade. (evil white people)

Another lost tribe :

Tocharians: Lost Tribe Of Xinjiang Province

These folks are believed to be the descendents of the oldest Caucasian mummies found in the deserts of east central China. The only thing they left behind was their language, Tocharian A & B. (...and maybe C )

But they'll be able to distinguish human poop from critter poop. T'would be cool to find polar bear fur and sloth fur in there.
