Suspicious Powder Found in Mass.
Eight Police Departments North of Boston Receive Envelopes Containing Unidentified White Powder
The Associated Press
|
| B O S T O N, Sept. 4 Eight police departments in towns north of Boston received envelopes Wednesday containing an unidentified white powder, authorities said.
"They came in regular mail, I don't if there was anything with them," said Jennifer Mieth, a spokeswoman for the state department of fire services, which was coordinating the response. State police identified the towns as Hamilton, Peabody, Salem, Middleton, Topsfield, Marblehead, Wenham and Lynnfield. "We've sent HAZMAT teams to respond," Miethe said. "Police departments have been advised to follow the procedures that have been long established," including not opening the envelopes and putting them in protective bags. |
Holy Smokes! Each one of those names matches a suburb or school name in Harare, Zimbabwe!
Holy Smokes! Each one of those names matches a suburb or school name in Harare, Zimbabwe!
Hamilton, Topsfield, Marblehead, Wenham: Ritchie Rich horse towns.Lynnfield: Ritchie Rich suburb.
Salem, Peabody: Working middle class.
A strange, strange mix of towns with absolutely no significance whatsoever except that they're fairly nice towns, all of them.
There is a woman scientist who is a close associate of Rosenberg who hails from Massachussetts. She is in fact the woman who originated the theory of anthrax being used as a weapon in Zimbabwe. There's no coincidence that she and Rosenberg are tight as a Dutch Boy's finger in a levee. Rosenberg, of course, is desperate to finger an American in order to push for her, and Castro's, pet project of forcing the US to submit to international inspections of US research labs.
I don't know much about Nass but I suspect she is also an activist who also wants to frame an American scientist to suit their agenda. Apparently her report appeared in the "Physicians for Social Responsibility Quarterly." Do you know anything about this group?
"Meryl Nass, M.D. : Dr. Nass, at the time of publication, was affiliated with Wing Memorial Hospital, Palmer, Massachusetts and the Department of Internal Medicine, University of Massachusetts Medical School, Worcester, MA USA. Her continued work on anthrax is available at her web site http://www.anthraxvaccine.org, Physicians for Social Responsibility Quarterly 1992: 2-198-209 "
So, do these activists stand to gain more in more ways than just as leftist peace activists? Do they have something to gain financially too, perhaps through Clinton administration efforts to push the anthrax vaccine via Bioport, or are they pure ideologues hellbent on an American connection and willing to push hysteria and frame some of our best scientists to do it? Would an 'anthrax researcher,' if judging by her article, be capable of producing anthrax or stealing samples of it to frame someone who is obviously a threat to her and Rosenberg's agenda?

Look what organizations she belongs to. Look at the list above to see how our friends at the Seattle newspaper, Iraq, the Federation of American Scientists, and these peace groups are related. So much for Kristof.
No horses in Marblehead...five Yacht Clubs and numerous jackasses though.
Preventing US troops from being protected by that vaccine is extremely convenient for a country which has an interest in making sure we would be vulnerable to the one weapon he has aplenty... biological weapons. Keeping US troops and civilians vulnerable until the time was ripe to make a strike on the US is also rather handy.
More than ever I believe the anthrax cases, and the events of 9/11, lead back to Iraq.
"As with GWS, however, the scientific evidence is so lopsided that Rep. Shays and the media feel compelled to invent experts to oppose the vaccine. One such is Dr. Meryl Nass, who has testified before Rep. Shays's committee. Although dozens of newspapers have identified her as an anthrax-vaccine specialist, she is nothing more than a Maine physician who argues for the existence of GWS and another syndrome the mainstream medical community rejects, multiple chemical sensitivity. She's also a member of the activist, antimilitary group Physicians for Social Responsibility.
Gannett News Service reporter and Pulitzer Prize winner John Hanchette, himself a GWS advocate turned antianthrax-vaccine crusader, calls Nass a "much-published expert on anthrax," failing to mention that her only publication in a major medical or science journal was a letter to the editor. Nass admits that her expertise on anthrax is simply self-learned, but she makes up for it with a loud voice, a sturdy soapbox, and spicy comments that activists and reporters like to hear. She has been made an expert precisely because she says outlandish things that actual experts in the field would never say." - SOURCE
(snip)"Let's look at this from another perspective. In 1993, I went to Cuba as a consultant to the Cuban Ministry of Health. I was surprised to learn that before Fidel Castro's takeover in 1959, Cuba had 6,000 doctors. Half left the country after the change in government. The remaining 3,000 were encouraged to teach their skills to others. Apparently Castro believed you could never have too many doctors. (snip)
I hope the FBI has been testing the homes and offices of these people with as much intensity as they have directed at Hatfill and other citizens.
And one Lotus Notes creator. I stand corrected!
As reported here in early January (see "The Left Assaults John Ashcroft," Feb. 12), members of dozens of 501(c) organizations met in Washington at the offices of the American Association of University Women (AAUW), where they launched a comprehensive lobbying campaign against the Ashcroft nomination. Staff of the Senate Democratic Policy Committee and of four leading Democratic senators, including Sen. Barbara Boxer, D-Calif., were in attendance.
The Landmark Legal Foundation has written to Sen. Patrick Leahy, D-Vt., who was Senate Judiciary Committee chairman during the Ashcroft hearings, seeking the identity of members of the Senate staff in attendance at the lobby-planning meeting, a description of their role at the meeting and whether they attended with his knowledge. "The public has a right to know whether these nonprofit organizations, with your encouragement, are using tax-exempt funds or federal funds to lobby senators," Levin wrote to the highly partisan Leahy. As Insight goes to press, Leahy has not yet responded.
Among those listed as having representatives in attendance were: the American Bar Association (ABA); American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees; Center on Juvenile and Criminal Justice; Feminist Majority; National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP); National Asian Pacific American Legal Consortium; National Association of Protection and Advocacy Systems; National Black Women's Health Project; National Coalition Against Domestic Violence; National Council of Jewish Women; National Education Association; NOW Legal Defense and Education Fund; Organization of Chinese-Americans; Physicians for Social Responsibility; Planned Parenthood (USA); Sentencing Project; Sierra Club; and Youth Law Center.

This group also was involved in trying to stop the US Government from starting up a nuclear plant in Washington for the purposes of obtaining Tritium for use in National Defense.
Something fishy is definitely going on. The Zimbabwe thing has no other source but her, and she is a self-taught 'expert,' not a credentialed authority. Her interest in anthrax supposedly is derived from wanting to stick her nose into the business of another person; she wanted to investigate the research of an MIT professor who was studying anthrax for the Government back when she was a student. I wonder who that scientist was?
Evidently the students were part of some organized group and I figure she was a member of that group too. Problem is, I don't know what that group was, but I'm betting it wasn't the Young Republicans or the ROTC unit.

After finding the courthouse building, we made our way through the security and up the steel stairs that looked like jail bars until we reached the third floor. As people from various peace organizations from across New England, talked with each other, a jury was selected from the jury pool. During that time, I talked to a young woman who had been part of a delegation witnessing the effects of the bombing of Iraq which she said changed her life. I also got to talk with Jonathan Leviett of the Massachusetts Green Party. I had worked with Jonathan years before when he was part of a protest against the Department of Defense organized by Students for A Responsible University. After doing research about what military research was being conducted at the University of Massachusetts at Amherst, the students found out that anthrax research was being carried on on campus. Making that knowledge public sparked off a campus-wide debate and protests that ended in student arrests. Making the courthouse a community meeting ground for peace activists was certainly democratic action. Hattie Nestle, one of the defendants, even brought nametags with her so that people could get to know each other for the next protest.
So, if my guess is correct Nass was a member of Students for a Responsible University.
(I know of no way to study how to fight such weapons without also knowing how to develop such weapons. Obviously, if you don't know how to create nasty strains, how can you possibly test to see if your treatment will work? these same groups slam the anthrax vaccine saying it was untested, yet they seem to go out of their way to make sure it can't be tested with protests such as these.)
Anyway, the students made such a stink over it - I think this was in the early nineties- that the researcher decided not to renew the grant, and from that time on Nass was proclaimed an 'expert' although she has yet to obtain any credentials to back up the image, as far as I can tell. She is now reaping credentials from the 'crisis,' and from the Gulf War Syndrome hysteria which are not proof of knowledge or accomplishments so much as a list of interviews. Like the 'General' the cable news networks used in interviews who turned out to be a nobody, all it takes to get 'expert' status is to sucker at least one mainline news show or paper into citing you. She has since supposedly been called to testify at a Courts Martial and all over the place... if I knew this was all it takes to become an 'expert' I could have been a talking head too by just feeding people what they want to hear. Good grief.
It looks like these "experts" need to be exposed in the media. Have you sent an email to Bill O'Reilly lately? This looks like the kind of expose he likes to sink his teeth into.
"Aided by a grant from the U.S. Army, during the 1980s Curtis Thorne, a UMass microbiologist, researched the genetic structure of a non-virulent strain of the anthrax bacillus. The non-classified research was aimed at developing a better vaccine, the researcher and Army spokesmen said. "
"After two years of protests by area peace activists (*Rosenberg's friend Nass and her student associates back in the mid-90s) arguing that the Army actually wanted to develop anthrax weapons, the researcher decided not to renew the grant. Thorne retired in the early 1994, and no anthrax research is now being performed at the Amherst campus, said Barbara Pitoniak of the UMass news office."
"No anthrax vaccine has been produced in the United States in more than two years..."
So, when was that Physicians for a Responsible Society trip to Iraq again?
There is no question in my mind that Nass is totally whacked. Her thinking is so convoluted that she can no longer recognize right from wrong--which makes her perfectly capable of framing Hatfill. She also sees the US as an enemy to her great utopian one-world government. That's clear from these excerpts from your link in #36:
It is a necessity that we evolve beyond the system of war. Everyone including every plant and animal is under the threat of impending peril until this neu global consciousness liberates the court system from national laws that are designed to protect the rich and destroy the poor. These laws enable the plutocray to condition, brainwashing the labor force to be content with being wage slaves by fragmenting their minds, bodies and souls in work that creates no positive future for the human race...After reading the article, I realized that all of us are still faced with imminent harm as the preparation for war continues to threaten our species with extinction--continues to deplete our resources needed to shelter, feed, heal, and educate people to the necessity of creating an ecologically sustainable society of peace. Until we have a massive conversion towards the evolutionary understanding that we are one planet and must live in harmony with nature, until this holistic religious experience penetrates the hearts of all, we are faced with inevitable ruin, not only to us the living, but to the yet unborn...
It's also clear from her article that she sees Ramsey Clark as a hero. I'm betting she's working with him--which means he could well figure in this.
As for the anthrax vaccine, there seems to have been some real problems there unless the stories of them being cited by the Board of Health for lack of sterility were false. I don't remember any denials by the Board of Health, though. However, the company was sold IIRC; so that problem may have been fixed.
Also, isn't the manufacturer in Michigan? I wonder if there are/were any Islamists on their Board of Health?
I agree with you that it would certainly be in our enemies' best interest to prevent the troops (and the population) from being vaccinated. So you may be right that Hussein or Russia was behind a campaign to discredit it. I mention Russia because I think they offered to sell us some meds or vaccine (though maybe it was small pox vaccine I'm remembering).
The people leading the charge against US biowarfare researchers began as early as 97 to go after the Amherst researcher. they are tied to Cuba as you can see, and the nutjob doctor from Maine went to Cuba and Zimbabwe, and as we know, both countries are ruled by folks just like Hussein. While in Cuba she claims to have been involved in helping cuba with solving an outbreak of eye disease which the Cubans claim was US bioterrorism. And during the 1990s she had been leading the way, with her fellow travelers, on the smearing the anthrax vaccine, to the point that research, at least federal research, was stopped on vaccine development. Our stockpiles of important medicines were virtually nil by 9/11. Being a green party activist, it was not a jump for her to paste both sides in politics, which made her popular among people right and left who were not fond of Bush or Clinton. Her group was in on trying to stop with the US from gearing up the production of tritium, too.
I find it convenient that a person with ties to Cuba and Zimbabwe, a person who belongs to some radical antiwar green groups which have a long history of support of Iraq, is also the person fingering Hatfill and other US researchers- precisely the people we will need most if an outbreak of disease occurs. We already have a very high ranking defector from Cuba who has said the Havana research facility was involved in anthrax; we have high ranking defectors from Iraq whose stories about WMD are at least partially confirmed by US inspectors. Carter even did a recent photo op in front of the heavily guarded 'animal feed' factory in Havana I believe, but was not allowed inside- which would have been a quick way to lay fears to rest about the site. Curious that Castro didn't let Carter in to clear that up.
We had the 'Afghans' nabbed in the Cayman Islands a year before 9/11 while trying to deposit a lot of cash in a bank there, some 2 million, if I recall correctly. They said they had gotten ashore by swimming from a Turkish freighter, but it turned out they had come off of a plane from Cuba. A curious warning letter about them had been delivered to a radio station before 9/11 which indicated that an attack on airliners was imminent. The author later claimed it had been a premonition.
And then we have the spy Montes and the WASP network. Montes had been working for Cuba since the eighties; she was arrested shortly after 9/11 after contacting her bosses in Havana. We had the Cuban spy working in the INS in Miami, with the ability to let people come and go without record. We have Atta and the boys down here in Florida all that time. We had the nasty election with all of the fuss right down there in Miami, and the ghost company of telemarketers which was purchased, along with all of its records, by a company from India. One wonders if it was in Kashmir...
The WASP network was trying to get information on McDill, primarily. We all know how important McDill is now. And it was equally important all through the 90s in dealing with sanctions on Iraq and in dealing with terrorism.
And thanks to her self-taught 'research experience with anthrax,' she became the authority of choice on anthrax vaccines with access to all sorts of material, documents and very importantly, personnel? Wouldn't it be more intelligent to look for a REAL expert in the field to investigate this, instead of inviting a person with ties to the Cuban Ministry of Health to do so?
Ah, but this was the Clinton administration, and Janet Reno was in charge of the Justice Department, and Janet Reno has always been in Castro's lap.
MAY 7, 1999 : (AFGHANISTAN, AL-QEADA, BIOTERROR, COMPUTERS, 'CURDLED MILK' PROJECT) computer file later to be recovered in 2001 indicates on this day that al-Qaida leaders had earmarked $2,000 to $4,000 for start-up costs of the terrorist group's biological- and chemical-warfare research, which was called "curdled milk."
Shortly after the NY air traffic control incident, al Qaeda was starting to warm up to the first tasks...
MAY 23, 1999 : (AFGHANISTAN, AL-QEADA, BIOTERROR, COMPUTERS, ZAWAHRI, KHABAB, CURDLED MILK PROJECT) A letter dated May 23 and written under one of Zawahris aliases is written (on the computer in Kabul recovered by a Wall Street Journal reporter later in 2001) and the author reports discussing some very useful ideas during a visit to Abu Khabab, the alias of an elderly Egyptian scientist. It just needs some experiments to develop its practical use. This was in reference to the al-Qeada "curdled milk" biological- and chemical- warfare program. "Particularly encouraging, " the letter in the computer files said, was a home-brew nerve gas made from insecticides and a chemical additive that would help speed up penetration into the skin. The writer said Khabab had supplied a computer disk that gave details of his product in a WinZip file, and my neighbor opened it by Gods will. U.S. officials, citing satellite photos and intelligence gathered from local residents, say Abu Khabab experimented with nerve gas on dogs and rabbits at a camp near the eastern Afghan city of Jalalabad. The camp, one of several in the area hit by U.S. bombs after Sept. 11, was known as Abu Khabab in honor of the scientist.
MAY 26, 1999 : (AFGHANISTAN, AL-QEADA, BIOTERROR, COMPUTERS, ZABADI) In a letter stored in the Kabul computer later discovered in 2001, under the same alias as earlier correspondence, the author says he was very enthusiastic about the Zabadi project and was especially pleased with Abu Khababs significant progress.
JUNE 1999 : (AFGHANISTAN, AL-QEADA, BIOTERROR, COMPUTERS, ATEF) date on a memo to be found on the Kabul computer hard drive to be discovered in 2001 and addressed to Abu Hafs Atefs alias gave instructions for building a laboratory, ordering that walls be covered with oil paint and floors with tiles or cement to facilitate cleaning with insecticides. But, noted the memo, construction should not start until electricity is installed. It also called for evasive action to avoid detection: Periodically (for example about every three months) one of the locations is to be canceled and replaced by another. A progress report complained that the use of nonspecialists had resulted in a waste of effort and money, urging the recruitment of experts as the fastest, safest and cheapest route. A June 1999 memo said the program should seek cover and talent in educational institutions, which it said were more beneficial to us and allow easy access to specialists, which will greatly benefit us in the first stage, God willing.
JUNE 15, 1999 : (N KOREAN VESSELS INVADE S. KOREAN WATERS) At least 17 and as many as 80 N. Korean sailors killed after naval firefight in which one of the North's vessels was sunk and others damaged. Clash followed nine consecutive days of North Korean incursions into South Korean waters.

I thought back to the definition of worker's alienation in which the assembly line of production made it so that workers had no understanding of exactly what product was resulting from their work.
Clearly this was written by either the dumbest person on the face of the earth, or one who has never worked on an assembly line. The arrogant, condescending nitwit actually things that workers are too stupid to know what they are doing without some light-in-the-loafers leftist who hasn't worked a day in their life around to tell them what is "really" going on.
Unfortunately the article isn't written by Nass, unless the silly pen name is that of Nass. I hope not- the thought of an MD being that stupid is frightening.
I just posted that link because it held some information on that protest group Nass was involved in 'helping.' It also pointed to how Nass supposedly became interested in anthrax. I believe that she was interested in it before that point, but it makes for a cute little legend...
Uh, excuse me for a moment while I wipe the egg off my face :)
I just assumed the author would be Nash and didn't even look.
I went back to the site and it checked it out. It's one of those off-the-wall sites that combines gaia, ecofeminism, mysticism, and nuclear protest. In fact, they seem to have made a religion of sorts out of the nuclear protest...
At it's core it appears to be communist with a lot of word play and psycho-babble. It's main purpose seems to be to shut down any nuclear facilities (and no doubt research) and it rails against the industrial/military complex that is destroying the family--blah, blah,blah...
You are good at seeing the big picture, piasa. I've read most of those stories in your #48, but hadn't really put them all together. Now I understand why we chose Gitmo. And it sheds a little more light on why Bush didn't push as hard as I expected when the PRC hijacked our EP3.
From what I can see, what we really have here is the whole communist block plus the Islamofascists plus our homegrown commies and Islamofascists now networking to crush us. I'm reminded of all those trips Zemin made through South America and Cuba...
BTW,, I'm wondering if the Abu Khabab research hasn't been moved to the Kurdish area of Iraq.
They just mentioned Hatfill being fired again on Fox. Even if Nass, Rosenberg, and others unknown can't successfully frame him, they've sure taken him out of the ballgame for a while...
