In the cold pristine waters of Alaska, fish develop naturally with a superior flavor and texture. These remarkable fish also produce top quality roes that are used to make caviar prized the world over. Long favored by the Japanese, salmon ikura, or lightly salted individual eggs, is now popular in the United States and other countries. Salmon sujiko, or salted eggs in skeins, is also popular in specialty markets, as are herring roe, hering roe on kelp and cod rod. Wards Cove pioneered the salmon caviar industry in Alaska and is now the leading producer. Product Specifications

Over the years, Wards Cove has developed a significant business in caviar and roe products and the expert know-how to produce the finest quality. All products are carefully cured and hand-packed to maintain their peak quality and freshness. Our one-kilogram, 500-gram, and 100-gram trays of ikura are specially packed in modified atmosphere packaging and flushed with nitrogen and CO2 to extend frozen shelf life. All Wards Cove plants are operated under strict HACCP and FDA guidelines.

As an Alaska commercial fisherman, I realize that our salmon is the best tasting stuff on earth. But, we're experiencing a soft market right now, and having a tough time catching the attention of the American consumer because of a glut of poor quality farmed fish, and simple lack of awareness.

A friend of mine says the plant in the photograph is a Japanese maple leaf.

I don't smoke dope, but do know what the plant looks like. If is it being used here... wow! Whatever works.

Any pot leaf experts out there to confirm or de-bunk this assertion?

Man you've got a rough job...from what I've seen and heard, commercial fishing in Alaska is quite dangerous. I agree with you that farmed salmon just plain sucks, and it is usualy Atlantic salmon, sorry mr fish, wrong ocean...

That leaf in the picture looks like a leaf from Japanese Maple.

I'm a collector of japanese maples and the leaf in the picture resembles a type of maple called Acer palmatum 'Matsumurae'. I'm sure it's not pot.

If the leaf in your picture is Marijuana, I've got a tree in my yard I'd like to sell you because its a lot more valuable than I thought. That leaf is Japanese maple--entirely appropriate for an ad on Japanese foods.
