Seems to me that one easy way to clear this up is to publish the transcript of the call that Eunice placed. Did she simple state what is quoted in the news article and in the various interviews she gave or did she elaborate in some way that caused the police to react in the manner they did? What exactly in the womans story caused the policy to "... take the woman's account extremely seriously." Did she tell the policy that "They were just kind of jovial about it,"?
I would think that the libertarian way to think about this is that anybody should be able to act as suspicious as they want any time they want and it's nobodys business but their own. Let's remember Randy Weaver and how he was treated.

I, too, hope this woman is given a medal for reporting the matter.

I think he is 18, and Eunice said that he not only heard them talking/laughing, but that he told her "Mom, they're just playing us." Now if she were lying, why would she include her son at all, let alone say that he thought they were kidding?

The auto tags were a "mixup" on the part of Ill dept of trans is how the story now goes.
The toll gate attendent now says that the driver of the second car paid for the first one that "blew through". There are too many conflicting stories out there.. Hope these guys are still being observed.

#14 Oh no.

We would all be better served by calming down and not jumping at shadows. Siccing the authorities on someone is serious business, and should only be done against a real threat and not just someone who offends you.

Just another thought...Should we be watching Medical students in the same way we
should have been watching student Pilots??
Which group do you think would be more likely knowledgeable about
brewing up batches of anthrax or any number of nasty, fatal, untreatable microbes?
Truth be told, we should be watching THEM ALL and lock up as many as we can
based on war-time powers.
And be ready for the day when they get smart and draft blue-eyed, blond Bosnia
Muslims, as well as Phillipinos and even FEMALES to carry out their attacks.
These people are serious bidness. We neutralize them or they kill us.
I can't believe the Democratic Senators.
They sit in a building that was untouched on 9-11, only due to what transpired
on Flight 93.
And they forget that Osama and friends only wounded the WTC towers in 1993...
but were patient enough to successfully complete the mission AFTER EIGHT YEARS.
These b@stards will be back for the Capitol Building and The White House.
I guess Daschle, Biden and their ilk think they'll be sponging off their
fat pensions by then.

Wish we had a news media that checked the facts before they report them.
I'm with you, they'd better stand behind this woman. Even if these jerks were "joshing" they should be made to pick up the tab for the search and siezure.

This is a fact. American Muslims have not shown any contempt, whatsoever, against radical Islam. This is a fact. American Muslims seem to agree with the concepts of radical Islam.
The facts are not just unpleasant, they are dangerous to ignore. If America is to survive, we have to look at Islam as a threat. We cannot be worried about being percieved as paranoid or politically incorrect. We cannot afford to "calm down" for one moment.

Or have access to radioactive substances use in medical treatments.

...brewing up batches of anthrax or any number of nasty, fatal, untreatable microbes? Well, which one?
This silly Anthrax thing was so lame, it was off the news-maps two weeks later.
It was domestic terrorism, anyway; someone counting on people like most of the idiots on FR who can't see that the Anthrax thing was NOTHING like the typical radical Jihadists typically put on.
Another domestic Ted Kasczinsky, nothing more.

I believe her too. Why dont they offer lie detector tests administered by the FBI for all concerned and see who shows up. I doubt the diaper heads would. They would just scream bias.

And what ever happened with the car's tags? Were they stolen or what? Fox was saying it was an administrative screwup by state of Illinois and that the plates were not stolen.

They also say that they paid the tolls (they were in 2 cars) and that the woman in the toll booth was lying as well when she said they didn't pay. Fox is reporting that first car didnt pay toll but the guy in the second car paid for both.

I saw on Fox (the rolling headline at the bottom of the screen) that these middle east freekos have been kicked out of their medical school. School said they got hate mail. Can anyone confirm this report? Yes. Fox reported it during the news.

Now they are saying that the guy in the second car paid the first car's toll. Did you hear that anywhere? That is a press mistake that they are NOT trying to correct. Fox News reported this at least a half dozen times today.
