Give it time Luis.
I have friend that has been working with the government to settle a claim that is in the millions of dollars. His attorney has made the exact same statement to the press as the terms were being negotiated. Wait until things are on paper and then let's see. It sounds like they only agreed on terms.

I'll bet Klayman insisted on confidentiality because it was such a lousy settlement.

I hope he doesn't have to wait long for the settlement check! I sued the government over a FOIA that was not acted on and entered an agreement with the special litigator in the Tax Division of the IRS, which was agreed to back in March. Of course they are only to pay me the costs of the lawsuit, but, by their delay, they effectively scuttled progression of the discrimination lawsuit I filed in another court, by not responding to my discovery requests or my FOIA until I sued for the information.
I still have not received the payment yet, some six months later. If I had delayed paying my taxes for six months, I would be in a heap of doo-doo!
Why soes this sh#t happen? Because they can get away with it and they all know it. Try to hold the government accountable for anything and they come after you with all guns blazing!
By the way, for any Denver freepers out there, I will be at the 10th Circuit Court of Appeals on Monday, September 23, 2002, for oral arguments in the case Harms v. O'Neill, case number 01-3245. Morning docket. I've been railroaded on this entire case so far, so I expect more of the same. They even sicced the Federal Police on me at the Courthouse, trying to accuse me of threatening a Federal Judge, just 10 days before my appeal was due to the 10th Circuit!
The story line on the intimidation by the FPO goes as follows:
I went to the courthouse to inquire about appealing the District Judge's ruling in my discrimination lawsuit against the IRS. After getting done in the clerk's office I went outside and was smoking a cig before I would venture out into rush hour traffic (no need to be in hurry for that adventure).
I was outside the courthouse smoking a cig, minding my own business, when two FPOs come up to me and say "the boss wants to see you inside." I said "well send him out here if he wants to talk to me." They didn't say what he wanted to talk to me about, but just a few minutes later their boss comes out to see me. The first thing he says is "you've been threatening a Federal Judge. I told him I had done no such thing and I didn't know what he was talking about.
Then he says we know each other, (never seen him before in my life). I said, "I don't think so." He says "Yeah, I've been to your house a couple of times." I told him, if he'd been to my house I would know it. Then he says, "well, you don't come to the door." I told him that if he'd have come to my house a couple of times someone would have been there and answered the door (I am not a fugitive and don't have any warrants out on me), because I work from my home and besides both my parents are retired and someone is almost always home. Apparently he didn't bother to call first before he "stopped by my house."
Then he says "where do you live, then." I told him to go check the court documents and the little meeting soon broke up after that. Talk about BS! All I can say is that I'm glad I didn't go back in the courthouse at that time.
I've had more friendly and less murky encounters with MIB's then that, under worse circumstances.
Have a good day freepers. And don't bother suing you local friendly gov or else all hell could break loose and most probably will!
The $64,000,000 question is if I didn't have a case, why all the gestapo tactics?

And here I thought Clinton's people were "tolerant." :-)
However, when you consider they were willing to use armed force to break up a Miami family because of a whiney Cuban father...

Big victory for JW. Mr Ashcroft SHOULD have been investigating Janet Reno for the past year, instead of hunting down and prosecuting terrorists here at home. Shame on Mr Ashcroft! Actually, ol' Beaver-Face could've chosen to investigate both the Krintons and the al-Haters, I'm sure...
