State Worker Shoots Two, Kills Himself (Florida)

JACKSONVILLE, Florida (AP) -- A state Health Department employee opened fire with a pistol at his workplace Thursday, wounding two co-workers before killing himself, authorities said.

Police Sgt. Dennis McGuire said the gunman, Wayne Horowitz, 53, shot himself in the head.

If guns were easier to get - if there'd been only one other person there carrying a concealed weapon, this whole tragedy would have been averted.

To bad. It's illegal (even with CCW) to carry concealed in Guvmint buildings in FL. Of course, the bad guy probably didn't care about that law.

Fact is, if a licensed CCW holder had been present, the perp would still be dead, but we might have been spared two innocent victims who are now in critical condition, and who are lucky they're not dead.
