this is so stupid. Even if they open up to women, how is this going to help me? I can't just walk up and join. I am not rich and you have to be invited to join.

To Gene, ALL and especially Hootie.

It is a great pity for Augusta National and the members that they must undergo the indignities of rabble feminists. There are only a few of these quite and mannerly establishments left in a country founded on individual freedoms and choice.

As America becomes more and more generic, anyone or anything that is inclusive is politically incorrect---except the socialist elite and they rarely do as they demand of others.

Martha Burke is such an elitist, a woman who runs rough shod over tradition and the rights of others to be “Private” in their choices of life. Martha Burke is a spoiler in the name of Women’s Rights, that is her selfish excuse. She is in truth a vandal of those so-called “rights” and I as a woman, resent the Bloody Hell out of her and her consorts trampling over my rights and the rights of others in the name of Progressive Feminism!

Martha Burke is what is wrong with honest activism, it is rotting under her like so much garbage. The National Council of Women's Organizations (NCWO) should fire this spiteful person and in her place put a woman who respects America and Americans for their traditions of freedom and self government. Tired and old rhetorical in your face feminists are no longer viable in the age of computers that allow all of us to peel back the skin to see how shallow or full of quick sand her brand of feminism is.

Hootie, you have my deepest sympathies and my prayers that God, will stiffen your spine against this vainglorious malcontent.

Can you imagine being the first token chick to be invited to join Augusta just because of all this BS???

You are NOT invited to join the club on your own merit...

No one wants you there...

You are there simply due to feminist pressure...

What a great and dubious honor...

Maybe they could admitt either Phylis Schlafly or Nancy Reagan. That way they could satisfy the critics and poke a finger in the eye of NOW at the same time.

I have played the course and consider it a highlight of my professional life to be asked.

The membership is already telling each other behind Hootie's back to do something and maybe George Schultz can talk to Justice O'Connor.
