It's real easy to see why some of the Repubs are jumping ship. It's because they're nothing but a bunch of PANSY FREAKING RINO'S. Who believe that it's ok to kill the unborn, that the demorats are ok in going after evil assualt rifles, that if we pass concealed carry we'll be back to Hollywierd Dodge City behavior on every street. In short, there are some republicans here in Kansas who are intellectualy defiecent and can not nor will not stand on values.

Being from Illinois, I feel your pain, we put George Ryan in 4 years ago and now the Dems are going to sweep.

Midwestern states aren't big on strident conservatives. Brownback had an opponent with a nice last name when he won, but Sebelius has been elected statewide and presents a stronger challenge. Stovall could beat her, but Shallenburger is out of step with many Kansans. Kansas isn't Idaho.

It must be the unions and farm subsidies here that makes people so mushy.

Why is Schallenburger losing so badly?

That's a mystery to me. Shallenburger did OK as Treasurer, not a high visibility office but then neither is the Insurance Commissioners office where Sebelius was. His primary was no more acrimonious than the ones for Treasurer or Attorney General. I don't know why he is so far behind except that Sebelius is advertising and Shallenburger isn't. To be honest I thought Kline would be the one in trouble, not Shallenburger.

Joining Dole and Shallenburger in Wichita Monday were U.S. Sen. Sam Brownback and Wichita Mayor Bob Knight. Knight ran against Shallenburger in the Republican primary for governor and lost despite having an early lead in the polls.

I wouldn't trust this poll - these people from Wichita have been known to publish crap. They predicted a Shallenberger loss in the primary and he won handidly. Their last poll said that Sebelius was winning western Kansas, which is a total lie. I would bet that Sebelius is winning by about 5-8% in reality.

Don't trust Survey USA. It's a computer-driven automated phone poll, and it always gets more people to act "decided" than a regular man-to-man poll.

This same poll got the Republican primary TOTALLY wrong. They were off by more than 15%. They couldn't even predict that Shallenberger would win Wichita, which is Knight's hometown and where this poll is based for crying out loud. In the previous poll, they said Sebelius was winning western KS, which, if you know anything about KS, is Shallenberger's strength as it consists of pro-lifers and a giant military base.

I had the oppontunity to travel to western KS 2 weeks ago and I did'nt see one Sebelius sign, not a one, west of Topeka. However, Tim Shallenberger signs were everywhere.

Maybe it's just the poll, like the above posters are saying.

Not good at ALL.

Teh Republican numbers are horrible........much worse than I imagined. I don't know if it is possible to pull this off, Tim. It now seems more likely an asteroid will hit Kansas tomorrow than you will win.

I do not understand this state sometimes. We put WONDERFUL conservatives into the national legislature...Brownback etc. Pat Roberts the other day attacked the media as being partly responsible for Sept. 11 even....lol. I have no idea what the heck is up wtih this state, but we just can't seem to get conservatives elected to the governor's office. We have a good number in the state legislature and are poised to move conservatives almost in control of the state BOE. But the governor's office seems out of reach......man it is frustrating.

What are the polls on AG...........as long as we get Kline in, the primary resulted in at least a half victory. Remember how the House ordered the AG's office to go to the State Supreme Court and ask them to declare that life begins at conception (they can direct the AG to bring lawsuits if one house agrees to do so)? Stovall decided to let the next person take care of that matter, so if Kline gets in, we will have a fierce advocate of that position.

I am shaking with anger that Kathleen is sweet talking her way into the governor's mansion.

Our state is in trouble economically. The last thing we need is a governor who got elected as someone she's not. She is running as a conservative Republican when in reality she's a radical liberal Democrat.

I have put in a call to the Shallenburger for Governor headquarters asking them why they haven't been telling Kansans the truth about Kathleen. I am supposed to get a call back later this afternoon.

For those who haven't seen it, go to www.sebeliusreport.com to get the truth on Kathleen. We cannot let her win. When people find out the truth about her, she'll go down.

Just a little information I know...

There's a woman here in Topeka who's trying to get public library computers in the children's section filtered from porn. This woman contacted the Sebelius campaign and asked if Sebelius would help. The Sebelius campaign told her Sebelius wanted nothing to do with this.

So I hear, the Sebelius flack Nicole Corcorran-Basso, or whatever her name is, is pretty upset with Kathleen.

"Nicole Corcoran-Basso, a spokeswoman for the Sebelius campaign, said the poll was good news and that the issues important to Sebelius seem equally important to Kansas voters." I love this. Which issues are important to Sebelius??? The woman won't tell us where she stands on anything. Oh wait, she's told us she cares. Never mind.

(Topeka-AP) -- Democratic gubernatorial candidate Kathleen Sebelius has issued an apology over remarks she made about roads in Missouri and last year's World Trade Center attacks. During a forum in Overland Park on Wednesday she said that driving on Missouri's roads was much more terrifying to her than the attacks on the World Trade Center.

Yesterday she said she was sorry for making what she called an ``insensitive comment'' -- and that she takes full responsibility for it. She also issued a written apology to the people of Kansas and the memories of those who lost their lives on September eleventh, their families and loved ones.

The candidate's remark came during an appearance with her Republican rival, Tim Shallenberger. He acknowledged the apology but said Sebelius clearly doesn't understand ``the gravity of the situation or the level of commitment needed to fight the current war on terrorism.''

WE NEED TO CAPITALIZE ON THIS!!! SEBELIUS IS NOT THE SWEET, CARING, HARMLESS LADY SHE IS PORTRAYING HERSELF AS TO THE VOTERS!!!

FYI! A press announcement will be made Monday regarding the formation of Kansas Women for Accountable and Responsible Government. You are going to like this. Please keep in mind that Sebelius has an unlimited amount of money and that after the primary, Rep. candidates war chests were empty. Help get the word out. If you want specific info on how to help or if you want to attend the press conference contact me privately. This is still a race!!
