I swear there was a thread about a second shooting around 2:00 p.m..
Last I heard that was a robbery and was not considered related to the other shootings (about 30 minutes ago on local radio).

That might explain it. Thanks.

This outrage clearly is the work of a gay FBI agent.....

can you explain the connection with "gay FBI agent"?
posted on 10/07/2002 7:42:02 PM PDT
Sorry. Just a "gallows humor" reference to gay activists against Boy Scouts and the recent MD shooting (in the face) of a young man by an FBI agent who mistook him for a fugitive bank robber. No offense intended on any count........

Found some stories on previous sniper attacks:
Freeway sniper says voices terrorized him
By The Associated Press
Arizona Daily Wildcat
April 17, 1996 "SACRAMENTO, Calif. - A freeway sniper who claimed he was only following commands from ''little communicators'' has been sentenced to a mental hospital for a month-long string of shootings that terrorized motorists. Christopher Shaw Scalley, who psychologists testified was legally insane when the shootings occurred, pleaded guilty Monday to 10 firearm assaults.
Under a plea agreement, the 49-year-old man will spend at least 19 years of a 23-year sentence in a state mental hospital. He will be required to serve out the remaining time in prison if his sanity is restored.
The sniper attacks terrified motorists on Interstate 80 in the Sierra Nevada foothills for more than a month last summer. The busy freeway is the main east-west link between Northern California and Nevada.
''I wasn't shooting at the people. I didn't want anybody to get hurt. I just wanted to scare them,'' Scalley said."
3/24/97 "...boys aged 11 and 13 years had been disciplined at Jonesborough's Westside Middle School. The two boys returned to their school today, seeking revenge with high-powered rifles. At about 12:40 PM Arkansas time, the boys, dressed in camouflage uniforms, triggered the school's fire alarms. They then ran into the woods near the school and took well-covered firing positions. According to early police reports and local call-in commentaries on the Hamblin show, the boys opened fire as their classmates filed out of the school in response to the alarm."

They wonder if one sniper killing in September was connected to this. I don't know if it's the same person as the boy scout, though. Terrorists want to bring fear and we have to fight against it, especially in Washington area right now.
