Bob Clampett, who worked for years at Warner Brothers on Bugs Bunny, Porky Pig, and other cartoons created Beany & Cecil. They used numerous puns on their maps (as did the 3 Stooges).
Bikini was one of the islands where nuclear testing was done (and why it was a topical name for new fashion swimwear).
I noticed that these characters live in Bikini Bottom but I prefer B&C's No Bikini Atoll (where the singing "Dinasor" lives).
The DVD also has old footage of the earlier Beany & Cecil puppet show. Reportedly, even Albert Einstein was a fan of the program.
