I believe it was coined by Christopher Hitchens. Great Steyn column, though.

I just use the word Muslim instead. They mean the exact same thing, and 'Muslim' is shorter.

Michael Savage started using the term soon after Sept. 11. Again, not sure if he coined it. It may just be so self-evident that no one can claim sole credit.
