COACHELLA, Calif. (AP) - Gov. Gray Davis began a two-day swing through the state's rural reaches to rally farmworkers and voters in the southern deserts and coastal farmlands.

The statewide tour is part of two busy final weeks of campaigning for Davis and GOP challenger Bill Simon, who spent Sunday lunching with Central Coast Republicans and seeking support in San Jose, the heart of high-tech Silicon Valley.

Strawberry , Easy on the Manure PING.

After his visit in Coachella Valley, Davis headed to Oxnard, along the fertile coast between Los Angeles and Santa Barbara, where mushroom, lettuce and strawberry farms abound.

The FARMERS were campaigning for Simon door to door in the Central Valley and San Luis Obispo. This was the FARMWORKERS. Not the same. The FARMERS were NOT pleased with the binding arbitration bill Davis signed.

Actually, considering the way he has treated California agriculture...
Davis might well be caught dead in a milk barn.

The Giants have already spit the opening road pair. If the Angels lose this one, they are in deep pucky.

Good game though.

Indeed, it will be a good series.
That kid reliever the Angels put up was pretty hot too.
So far, because of the road split, Advantage: Giants.
