Monthly Donors. Important Notice.

FR has changed the donation site and all monthly donors who wish to continue should re-input their information on the new site. Badjoe last ran the FR support monthlies September 20th. It is now October 21 so you are now out of danger of being hit twice in one month. : )

If you have not gone to the new site and re-entered your information your monthly has stopped.

Now I know you don't want that to happen it, so please go HERE to re-up.

The next Freepathon will come sooner and last longer if you don't do this now.

Please Freepmail Badjoe or e-mail him at Badjoe@socal.rr.com with your real name after you have done this so he can remove you from the old file.

If you go to the donation page and sign up, I imagine Jim Robinson will know if you do it.

Yes, you are in the new system and do not need to re-up. Anyone who started a new monthly or re-upped during the last Freepathon is "good to go."

Not to put too fine a point on it ... but Joe's a big reason many folks became monthly donors in the first place. His tireless effort and lead-by-example attitude toward boosting the financial support of this place have been an outstanding boon to the site for many years.

It's to his credit -- and the site's -- that he uses this opportunity to make a final plug for monthlies to re-up.

Nobody's denying one thing Joe did, especially not me. Joe is the one who announced he was stepping down. I'm just wondering why Jim didn't post this thread asking us to notify Joe, since I am almost positive I remember Jim pubicly asking Joe to destory that list.

Nobody minds Willa posting the thread to remind people. I for one appreciate it a lot.

The question is, why are the old records still out there? If people haven't notified BADJOE are their CC's going to be charged this month? If people have renewed on the new system and not told BADJOE why should it matter?

I appreciate his past service very much, but I was under the very clear impression that he no longer was handling this.

If not, then why hold on to them?

Not to put too fine a point on it ... but Joe's behavior in recent months, including his refusal a couple of months ago to shred the credit card records when Jim Robinson asked him publicly to do so, is one reason some people are now leery of using credit cards to donate.

Since Joe used to charge the monthlies on the 20th of the month, and the new system charges on the date you sign up for it, during the Freepathon monthly donors were told not to sign up under the new system until after the first of the month, to avoid being charged twice in September... once on the 20th, (before the 'thon started) and once under the new system, because it was still September. I waited and re-upped mine on the 1st.

Some of the old monthly donors obviously have not re-upped, and this is a hope and plea for them to do that if they will, that is all, I think, Howlin.
