On October 22 Mike Taylor announced that he would reenter the race for the US Senate. In a moving and powerful speech he declared that he would join the Montana Republican Party to champion the cause of clean campaign activities in an effort to help stem the tide of sleazy, shameful campaign tactics that are eroding the great American political process.

I wonder if he had any polling information.

I saw elsewhere (can't find it) that many in Taylor's camp were surprised as the internals were not that bad. He sure got a lot of press and is now getting some more. Maybe it was a Hail Mary of sorts. Putting aside the Ross Perot analogies, this just may appeal to many voters. His statement appeared heartfelt. In any event, I'm glad the Rats will have to spend money there....

With that TV ad kick-in-the-nuts he got, he should have stuck with that old but proven tactic when caught in an ambush.....

Frag out and charge.

If it was me, I would have played it up and had fun with it....made it a comedy routine. Defuse the damage, or at least minimize it. Good to see he got back on the horse.
