Matches? I assume at this early stage it "matches" only to type or size....surely this is a little soon for there to be a ballistics match. Let's not get ahead of ourselves but it might be promising and reflects, apparently, some good old-fashioned (and also high tech) police work.

Apparently they are caught but the lamestream press are not as gleeful as they would be if they were "Timothy McVeigh Turner-Diaries-Militia" types. Even though one of the suspects is clearly a Muslim based on his name alone, not a single mention of the fact that he is a Muslim has been made on any sort of media so far as I can tell. I think the race of the suspects is a factor in the media downplaying too. I can tell you that many of these liberal mainstream types are deeply depressed this morning that they couldn't pin this on any right-wing types.

Coverage on MSNBC has quoted this morning from a Seattle Times article I posted earlier on Free Republic Link in which persons interviewed by that paper indicated the snipers had expressed sympathy for the 9/11 hijackers.

The elder sniper had also provided security for a Million Man March (see details in the article in the above link).

NPR was talking to some guy this morning who insisted on using the "Williams" last name instead of Mohammed. The spin has already started in some circles.
