I would have firmly but politely explained that this was an expensive gun and that I would very slowly lay it down and move away from it where I would happily lay down.

That's funny, that's what I was thinking too. I wouldn't dare drop my pistolas on concrete! I always cringe when they do it in movies. Hell, you might break a Glock thataway!

Not only that, my pistol has no safety, dropping it would most likely cause it to fire inadvertantly, possibly striking someone.
