It sounds very promising to me. I don't want anymore children, and I don't want the recoup of a tubal ligation.

True to form for Planned Barrenhood -- "copulate" all you you want - as long as it is sterile.

Promoting an "anthing goes" kind of sexuality without parenthood is the name of their population control game.

Woe to the Third World women who will bear the brunt of this latest "technological experimentation" that destroys the family and the inherent creative nature of man.

The main problem with endometriosis is being sterile. I think that is the main problem with it, and would be of concern if you are getting sterilized.

I agree with you, but my hubby doesn't want to get one.

Sexual intercourse has a purpose. I believe it is immoral to intentionally hinder that purpose through artificial means.

Too bad that a woman named Rodham and another named Kelley didn't have this available in the '40s.

So pleasure is not a purpose? 'Lie back and think of England', that sort of thing? Post-menopausal women need not apply? or infertile men?

The fact of the matter is that we have the capacity to transmit human life, and mutilating ourselves to remove that faculty is an offense against the human person.

Post-menopausal women and infertile men do not artificially interfere with themselves.

So, if a woman or man has a (medically correctable) problem that causes infertility, is it immoral not to correct it?

This sounds much more complicated and invasive than a tubal.

You think it's okay for women to practice birth control by not having sex, but not okay for women to practice birth control by other means? Aren't her eggs just as dead?

Fabulous answer!

I appreciate your response. This thread has gotten a bit odd and it is good to hear from a normal person!

What is the recoup from a tubal? This sounds fairly invasive too, and I was a little kid when my mother had one. I remember two tiny incisions.

Well, now, a tubal works like a kind of scar. Any word on incidence of ectopic pregnancies during those three months?

So...ummm, let me put this as delicately as possible...do you also mean any sexual activity that wouldn't otherwise lead to procreation is likewise immoral?

You know, traffic at rush hour does not indicate to me that the human race is at risk of extinction. I am not concerned. So people are not allowed to medically control their family size? - They must just stop having sex when they have conceived the number of children they can support? Ack. I think marriages allow for sex more than 2.5 times over a lifetime.
