They are taught in both the native language and English; and taught the history of both the native land of the child's parents and the United States. So this is why it took 3 yrs.? Why can't the kids learn about their native country and customs from someone who KNOWS about them, like their parents. And Amer. History is taught all through elementary school, then again in High School!
Schools need to teach these kids ENGLISH and get them into regular classrooms as quickly as possible. I'm so glad this initiative passed!

Liberal Bay State voters want their kids to speak English. They may be liberals but they ain't stupid. Even a blind squirrel gets a nut once in a while. California passed a similar law, and now, even Liberal Massachusetts passed this law.

controversial This is how the media destroys its own credibility. Massachusetts voters overwhelmingly supported this measure, with over 70% in favor.
Yet the biased media will go out and find fringe liberals to recite hackneyed talking points in support of the latest leftist fad, all because it meshes with the editorial staff's ultra-liberal world view.
