Not a re-creation. A mere coincidence.

Underage HMB alert? Darwin Alert? I couldn't figure which applies better.

I like the dad in this article. Blames himself, lack of culture, etc. He's well meaning, but in denial that his son is, well, stupid. Stupid people all over the world.

I wonder how many degrees Kelvin alcohol burns at?

I think K = 273.15 + C, if that helps.

"It's not like he did a robbery or stole things, so I still have hope in him."

Let's not give Junior too much credit!

Not to sound like a liberal, but I do blame society for these incidents.

Most young boys are forced to live sheltered, soft lives incompatible with their hormonal warrior urges. 150 years ago boys this age would've been required to know how to use a firearm (as opposed to hiding the darn things from them) and would often have to stay outside working for long periods of time. Many would be required to hunt and chop large amounts of wood (today we tell them "Don't play with knives!")...

This is the price we pay for trying to raise boys in a sheltered manner. They will find ways to expend their aggressive energy. If people want to prevent this sort of thing, they need to push their kids towards programs like the Marine Corps Cadets or maybe even Civil Air Patrol (Boy Scouts and JROTC have been watered down too much).

I don't blame the movie...

I totally agree, but how much do you want to bet that the 'poor victim's' family has already hired a lawyer to sue the producers of the movie?

The father doesn't sound like he wants to sue. He is Chinese and regrets not raising Kelvin in the traditional Chinese culture. Sounds like he should have named the kid WONG WAY.

That's the price you pay when you create a movie like this. They knew the liability when they released the film.
