FLYING THEIR POLITICAL COLORS
Fiedor Report On the News #296 ^ | 11-17-02 | Doug Fiedor

Posted on 11/16/2002 11:34:24 AM PST by forest

Last Thursday, House Democrats elected Rep. Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) as House Minority Leader. Pelosi won the minority leader position on a 177-29 vote.

That is, only 29 House Democrats voted against her. Clearly, 177 agree with her positions. This is a very important point. Because, now we can define, specifically, what the House Democrats are and what they stand for.

Money is the life-blood of politics. Like Hillary in the Senate, Pelosi capitalized on that. In so doing, Pelosi bought her position within the Democratic Party. According to Opensecrets.org(1), Pelosi set up her own PAC and quickly became a major campaign contributor to other candidates. Just through her PAC alone, she donated more than $1-million to other Democrats. She also gave another $200,000 to the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee, which is the House Democrats' main fund-raising arm.

All that is legal, in a perverted Washington sort of way, so let's pass on that for now. This story gets much better.

Pelosi is also an officer in yet another group of interest: The Congressional Progressive Caucus(2). Fifty-some members of the House also belong to the Progressive Caucus and herein is part of what drives and defines the Democratic Party.

The Progressive Caucus is actually a part of the Democratic Socialists of America (DSA). Their web page was even hosted by DSA till we (and others) exposed them a few years ago(3). There is still a copy available, too(4). Currently, their web page is hosted by the avowed socialist Rep. from Vermont, Bernie Sanders.

According to them: "DSA is the largest US affiliate of the Socialist International (SI), the worldwide organization of 140 socialist, social democratic and labor parties. The SI has the distinction of being the largest political organization in the world."

Some folks might correctly remember that the SI membership included well known politicians like Josef Stalin, Friedrich Engels, V.I. Lenin, and Leon Trotsky. That probably explains why so many of the planks of the Communist Manifesto(5) are included in the Democratic Party's platform and are the expressed goals of the Congressional Progressive Caucus.

Again, they prove that with their own words. The think tank of the Progressive Caucus is The Progressive Challenge -- The Institute for Policy Studies(6). The progressive Challenge bills itself as: "Linking grassroots activists, scholars, and the Congressional Progressive Caucus toward a multi-issue movement for fairness and justice for all." It is also part of the DSA.

As their introduction states: "The Congressional Progressive Caucus, the Institute for Policy Studies and countless national and community organizations and citizens around the country have been fighting tirelessly for a Fairness Agenda for America -- for a redirecting of national priorities toward fairness and economic justice." Their "Fairness Agenda" comes as close to calling for the implication of all planks of the Communist Manifesto (those not already written into law) as they dare at the moment.

The Progressive Caucus and Progress Challenge support the Transnational Institute(7), which has yet another interesting take on socialism in the United States.

Among Nancy Pelosi's ideological views are everything one would expect from a socialist activist. She favors "abortion" at birth, a higher minimum-wage and higher CAFE standards but has opposed tax cuts of nearly every kind. She also opposed trade promotion authority, even though the California economy thrives on exports. Clearly, she is far to the left of 90% of the American population, which means this is going to be a very interesting two years to watch.

Now . . . here's where the fun comes in: Rep. Nancy Pelosi was elected to the leadership of the Democratic Party in the House. Which means, she was put forth by the membership to represent their ideology. We should remember that and depict her ideals and antics as representative of the Party as a whole.

Therefore, if once a month everyone reading this newsletter picked just one little aspect of any of her many deviations from her oath of office to support the Constitution as written and fired off a short letter to their local newspaper editor, the results would be phenomenal by 2004.

Clearly, this action by the House Democrats has given Republicans a great leg up in the next election. Still, we should all help spread the word to others who may not be paying close attention.

Meanwhile, thank your local Democrat. We greatly appreciate them finally marching under their correct colors.

That is not included in the filings but she gets over a million a year in RENT and owns a vineyard worth at least 5 million.

So why hasn't she shared HER wealth yet? Isn't that what Socialists believe? Or do they only believe it applies to the working class "jews?"

Are you trying to get this thread pulled or just acting foolish?

Was my writing so bad that you missed the whole point of the article?

Evidently.

None of the above. That's what socialist means. I looked up the Socialist "colors" and this is what the search engine gave me. The German version of the Socialist flag.
In my opinion, that's the most important part.
How much she makes, to me , is a smaller issue. :-P

Comintern Bump, Stalin's old organization controled the 2nd international as well as the 3rd. In the end Kautsky lost the argument.

Not precisely. In non-Communist countries, Stalin worked with "useful idiots" including Social Democrats or whoever could be dragooned to support the Comintern party line at any given point, including Nazis.

Within the Soviet Union all non-Stalinists were ruthlessly supressed, along with Trotskyites and other "deviationists". The varieties of socialism were tolerated where necessary outside the Soviet Union. Within, there was just the one.

What you don't seem to realize is that otherwise normal people fell in love with Josef Stalin. It was a truly pathological abusive relationship.

Wouldn't it be great if a few of the Senate Demos walked over to the Republicans? That margin would be glory.

They may be thinking about it. I suppose there may be a few who aren't socialists. This may have opened their eyes. Let's hope they do the right thing and bail from the sinking ship while they still have the chance.

Since the individual votes were neither recorded nor published just how do you plan to do that?

Here's a post from Dummies at DU.com Inc.....

My Political Asylum Request Under Consideration in Deutschland

I received a Welcome E-Mail from the Chairman of the SPD Party Chairman Gerhard Schroeder expressing thanks for my showing interest in his country. He is the current Chairman of the Sozialdemokratische Partei Deutschlands, the German social Democratic Party.

He continues, The SPD party has always been a party which looks beyond its borders for friendly relations and is committed to peace throughout the world and to peaceful co-existence of all peoples.

He also comments that the SPD Partei has concluded a coxistence pact with the Green Party by a vote of 523 votes FOR and 1 opposing and one abstension, This makes them the ruling party in Germany because of their unity of both parties serving Der Faterland.

One thing is he did not comment on my present ability in the use of the German language. I have extensive well known relatives there and I at least will be able to brush up on the nitty gritty of not using offensive American terms that are really not popular to Europeans. It will take me a year or more to sever relations with accounts I now have but I have already established contacts in Austria and Germany.

An encouraging note for DUers is that the Green Party and the SPD Partei in Germany are able to work together and complement each other rather than be divided. Now they both serve Germany with a high interest in the working class.

I won't be able to continue to call some repuklicrats NAZIS anymore. Das ist Verboten in Deutchland.

Here for referance

When something seems too good to be true, it usually is.

Are we witnessing the self-emolation of the Democratic Party or are we being faced with a reality where almost half of our population have become avowed socialists instead of closet socialists?

The queers came out of the closet; why not the Democrats?

Before Jim Robinson removed the Thread/picture, you could have looked at the picture and seen the rare and stranded Lesbo Elephant Seal without any directions from me. The seal obvious had her winter blubber on for the winter.

I have a hard time deciding if I detest Pelosi or Thompson worse!

"optimist road"

I agree! The statement: "far to the left of 90% of the American population" is marvelous.

I'm hoping her radical SF politics will disgust even left leaning Californians - thereby allowing another person to fill the void she will leave.

This state is moving right - not as quickly as I'd like, but families with young children are disgusted with the homosexual agenda put forth in our schools which is supported and defended by the dems/libs. To have a democrat spokesperson in Congress who supports this agenda will most certainly have an effect on the rest of California.

I'm counting on her radical viewpoints to help California elect more repubs in 2004. We gained a few in the statehouse which we're hoping will help us keep the dems from increasing taxes on everything that doesn't move and a few things that do.

"I have a hard time deciding if I detest Pelosi or Thompson worse!"

In my case, it's a troika of contempt, because I include George Miller, who "W" calls "El Whorehay Grande!"
