Read Animal Farm in 8th grade always loved Orwell books I didn't know he was a socialist most of his life till recently. Its wimpy to wring your hands and try to play nice with the left we should be just as ruthless as they are lest we want to go to the gulag.

Poohbah

Why do you even care if The Free State Project happens? What threat are they to you?

It'd work. That's what they're afraid of.

What makes you say that the taxpayer doesn't have a say in these matters? Please be specific.

I know no tax payers that are happy about the money going to the UN. Opps I forgot Ted Turner but I don't know him or Maurice Strong personally.

Are you and all your friends happy with the way the government has chosen to spend your tax money? Do you know where it all goes? Did they ask you the tax payer?

If you know please give me a break down on where all our money goes and how much is going into the UN. How do I stop paying for abortions around the world? How do I stop funding pathetic art through the National Endowment of Artist Funds that offends my faith? Do I just take all of the causes and calculate which ones I support then the ones I don't and only pay on the ones I wish to at tax time?

Fact, the GOP replaced the WHIGS and the second GOP candidate ( Abraham Lincoln ) actually won the race for president; twice.

Please name the fringe party candidate, who has won the presidency, in the past 100 years.

To date, you have only one check-off box that wishes to know whether you're interested in spending a few bucks on the presidential election. My guess is that a lot of folks say 'no'- even though it has no effect on their taxes.

Imagine if you (or any taxpayer) had a check box for say:

$3Mill to Study Soft Shelled Turtle mating in the everglades.
$500 Big Ones to keep Hawaiian sugar farmers competitive.
$20Bill to influence voters in various state intitiatives seeking to decriminalize drug usage. Etc.

Again, just another guess, but I'm thinking a lot of 'noes'.

Go back and reread some more American history books, that aren't rivisionistic. Hamilton wasn't president; Jefferson was. Tom did NOT bother to ask Congress to declare war. WHY ? Becuase he knew that he shouldn't, when dealing with nonstate terror; that's why ! Tripoli wasn't attacking us; the pirates were. The Caliph/ Pasha / whatever the title of the man was, of Tripoli, was, of course, aiding and abetting the pirates; however, he was more like Sadam, or the Saudi princes, in their dealings with OBL and al Quaeda.

Now, do you care to keep ignoring the fact that Jefferson almost got us into the French Revolution, or not ? How about the facts that he was personally irresponsible, a wastrel and a spendthrift, profligate to the nth degree, where money was concerned, and thou he wrote that " ALL MEN ARE CREATED EQUAL , he didn't live by that that position.

Actually, never mind, facts, unless cherrypicked and rearranged, to fit your own delusions, don't matter one white to you.

It would be nice. I love that idea!LOL

A little box that says check here if you want to support gorbi at the presidio. I think poor Gorbi would have to work at a real job instead of working so hard at the taxpayers expense to destroy America.
A little box for the UN.
And if we made that there only form of support.
Think of all the money that would stay in our country and our pockets to be spent in our own country.

Let me ask you do you feel that the tax money that you pay is being spent the way that it should? Do you feel that you have enough of a say where the money is going?

Here is a link for Farragut State Park. I am certain that they list all of the parks in Idaho. This way you can look and see how bad the water situation is. I have heard that there are some really good white-water-rafting places quite a way down south from us. If there is not any water it seems like it would be ruff to do that!

Actually, there are Libertarians on FR who defend slavery, as long as it is done under the guise of "contract."

No, we defend indentured servitude.
And you are in fact, a liar.

Dept of Education was founded under Carter.

The one room school house got us from Agriculutre to Creators of the Industrial Revolution and through World War II.

Compare that record to todays publik skools.

Private schools are good enough for me.

Sorry, it was outlawed along with the other forms of slavery by the Thirteenth Amendment.

I never said we needed to wring our hands and play nice with the left. I was only commenting on your willingness to tear down the very thing you want to gain power to protect.

I know no tax payers that are happy about the money going to the UN.

That's nice. Have you actually tried to make it a cause for voting your representative and Senators out of office, or do you merely expect your representatives to read your mind?

Are you and all your friends happy with the way the government has chosen to spend your tax money?

Nope. But a majority are either actually happy with how the money is spent, or sufficiently apathetic about how the money is spent, and the two attitudes are sufficiently alike that it's an effective endorsement of how our tax money is spent.

Did they ask you the tax payer?

Yup. November 5th, 2002, was the last time the question was asked.

If you know please give me a break down on where all our money goes and how much is going into the UN.

You really want me to do this? If so, I bill at $200 an hour, with an 80-hour minimum. I do not do YOUR civics homework for free.

How do I stop paying for abortions around the world?

Pay attention--Bush took care of that issue right after he took office.

How do I stop funding pathetic art through the National Endowment of Artist Funds that offends my faith?

Gosh, how about throwing out the SOB who voted for it, and keep throwing out future pro-NEA SOBs until your representative gets the hint?

Do I just take all of the causes and calculate which ones I support then the ones I don't and only pay on the ones I wish to at tax time?

Nope, our system doesn't work that way, and it never did, either.

Look, if you're too lazy to try to get your fellow citizens to vote someone out of office on these issues, then you're too lazy to work on the Free State Project.
