Today's FEEBLE attempt at humor:

A very thirsty man goes into a bar.

As he waits to get the bartender's attention, a regular sitting next to him calls out, "I'll have another waterloo."

The bartender gives the regular a tall ice cold drink and asks the newcomer what he would like. The thirsty man points to the man next to him and says, "I guess I'll have what he's having, a waterloo."

So the bartender brings the newcomer a tall ice cold drink. The man takes a long deep drink and calls out, "HEY! This isn't any good. It tastes just like water!"

The regular bar patron sitting next to him says, "It is water. That's all I drink," He turns to the bartender and says, "Right Lou?"

Today's classic warship, USS Fogg (DE-57)

Buckley class escort ship
Displacement: 1,400 t.
Length: 306’
Beam: 37’
Draft: 9’5”
Speed: 24 k.
Complement: 186
Armament: 3 x 3”, 4 x 1.1" AA, 8 x 20 mmAA, 3 21” torpedo tubes, 8 depth charge projectors, 2 depth charge tracks, 1 Hedgehog

USS FOGG (DE-57) was launched 20 March 1943 by Bethlehem Steel Shipyard, Hingham, Mass.; sponsored by Mrs. Adelbert W. Fogg, mother of Lieutenant (junior grade) Fogg, and commissioned 7 July 1943, Lieutenant Commander Charles F. Adams, Jr. USNR, in command. She was reclassified DER-57 on 18 March 1949.

FOGG's first cruise on convoy duty began with her departure from New York 13 October 1943. She escorted unladen tankers to Aruba and Curacao in the Netherlands West Indies, crossed to Algiers guarding loaded tankers, then returned by way of Curacao and Trinidad to New York 4 December 1943. Between 26 December 1943 and 20 August 1944, she made six escort voyages from New York to Londonderry and Lisahally, North Ireland, guarding the flow of men and material which made possible the invasion of Europe and the push across the continent which followed.

The escort put to sea once more from New York 12 September 1944, to escort a convoy through the English Channel to Cherbourg, France, then called at Portsmouth, England, before returning to New York 9 October for a brief overhaul. After special training at Charleston, she sailed 6 November to escort a slow towing convoy to England and back. Homeward bound, on 20 December, one of the LSTs in the convoy was torpedoed, and as FOGG began to search for the submarine, she, too, was torpedoed. Four of her men were killed and two wounded, and the ship badly damaged. For two days the crew fought to save their ship, but when on 22 December the stern sheared off, all but a skeleton crew were taken off. These men restored buoyancy, and FOGG reached the Azores in tow the next day. A first attempt to tow her back to the United States failed when bad weather tore away the temporary bulkheads replacing the stern but she at last arrived at Boston for repairs 9 March 1945.

After refresher training, FOGG sailed out of Norfolk between 2 and 30 June 1945, acting as target ship in battle problems with a cruiser, serving as plane guard for a carrier, and training men in combat information center duty. On l July, she entered Philadelphia Naval Shipyard for conversion to a radar picket, which was completed 2 October. Duty along the east coast and in the Caribbean, primarily in antisubmarine warfare development and as combat information center school ship, continued until 26 July 1947, when she arrived at Charleston, S.C. There, FOGG was decommissioned and placed in reserve 27 October 1947.

Stricken April 1 1965, she was sold January 4 1966 and broken up for scrap.

USS Fogg was named for LTJG Carleton Thayer Fogg. Born 19 August 1917 in Lynn, Mass., Carleton Thayer Fogg enlisted in the Naval Reserve 6 October 1937. Appointed Ensign 1 January 1939, Fogg flew with squadrons in aircraft carriers SARATOGA (CV-3) and WASP (CV-7) before joining one in ENTERPRISE (CV-6) in September 1939. Now a regular officer, Lieutenant (junior grade) Fogg was killed in action in the initial attack on Kwajalein, 1 February 1942. He was awarded the Air Medal posthumously for his gallant conduct in the face of heavy enemy opposition.

Hello. I'd like to help. But I was wondering if anyone knew of a site for free, where I could upload graphic to link to here. I know there are many, but they seem to have a limit as to how many "hits" per day they allow each account. Can someone point me to somewhere?

Please support our Israeli Brothers/Sisters-in-Arms as well.

In these troubled times, people around the world are looking for tangible ways to share their feelings with our Israeli soldiers. Our site gives you the opportunity to send Pizza and Soda* to active duty soldiers who are fighting terror and protecting the Jewish people. This includes soldiers on regular military service as well as those who have left their families, homes and jobs to serve the Jewish people as Miluim (Reserve Duty) fighters.

____________________________________________________________

Delight our soldiers out in the field with a Hamburger & Cola and your good wishes!
Share your feelings with them at this difficult time in a very tangible way.

____________________________________________________________

Send IDF Personnel an Ice Cream treat too!

____________________________________________________________

At each site you can include, if you wish, your personal message of support and gratitude to our soldiers

When you do this you are also supporting Israeli Restaurants that have been hit by the tourist slump.

All our deliveries are coordinated with the security forces and thus pose no security risk.

AIR POWER
Lockheed C-141

The Lockheed (now Lockheed Martin) C-141 was the first jet aircraft designed to meet military standards as a troop and cargo carrier. It was also the first military aircraft to be developed with a requirement for FAA type certification in the contract. The Starlifter is the workhorse of the Air Mobility Command. It fulfills a vast spectrum of airlift requirements through its ability to airlift combat forces over long distances, place those forces and their equipment either by conventional landings or airdrops, resupply employed forces, and extract the sick and wounded from a hostile area.

President John F. Kennedy's first official act after his inauguration was to order the development of an all-jet transport to extend the reach of the nation's military forces. Lockheed's C-141 StarLifter was the result. The C-141 Starlifter was the workhorse of the Air Mobility Command during the Cold War. The Starlifter fulfilled the vast spectrum of airlift requirements through its ability to airlift combat forces over long distances, inject those forces and their equipment either by airland or airdrop, re-supply employed forces, and extract the sick and wounded from the hostile area to advanced medical facilities.

The current C-141B is a stretched version of the original C-141A with in-flight refueling capability. The C-141B is about 23 ft longer than the C-141A, with cargo capacity increased by about one-third. The C-141 force, nearing seven million flying hours, has a proven reliability and long-range capability.

To slow aircraft aging of the active duty fleet, 56 PAI aircraft were transferred to the UE Guard and Reserve as of FY95. Additionally, the process of retiring high flight hour equivalent aircraft will culminate with the retirement of the entire AMC active duty fleet by FY03. The Air Force plans to retire Unit Equipped (UE) ARC C-141C aircraft by FY06. There were a total of 99 C-141's in service worldwide as of the end of 2001. The Air Force did not use the C-141 in Operation Enduring Freedom in Afghanistan, relying instead on the newer and larger C-17.

"The Perfect Woman"

Once upon a time, a perfect man and a perfect woman met. After a perfect courtship, they had a perfect wedding. Their life together was, of course, perfect.

One snowy, stormy Christmas Eve, this perfect couple were driving their perfect car (a Grand Caravan) along a winding road, when they notice someone at the side of the road in distress. Being the perfect couple, they stopped to help. There stood Santa Claus with a huge bundle of toys.

Not wanting to disappoint any children on the eve of Christmas, the perfect couple loaded Santa and his toys into their vehicle. Soon they were driving along delivering the toys. Unfortunately, the driving conditions deteriorated and the perfect couple and Santa Claus had an accident.

Only one of them survived the accident. Who was the survivor?

Scroll down for the answer.

> > >

> > >

> > >

> > >

> > >

> > >

> > >

The perfect woman survived. She's the only one who really existed in the first place. Everyone knows there is no Santa Claus and there is no such thing as a perfect man.

****Women: Stop reading here, that is the end of the joke for you.

> > > ****Men: Keep scrolling

> > >

So, if there is no perfect man and no Santa Claus, the perfect woman must have been driving. This explains why there was a car accident. By the way, if you're a woman and you're reading this, this illustrates another point:

Women never listen either. You were told to stop scrolling!!

Well, not the funniest joke, but the coffee's just starting to kick in and I laughed...MUD

13-point deer shot by hunter turns out to be doe
Associated Press
Published Nov. 20, 2002

WILLMAR, MINN. -- A Willmar man thought he had a trophy buck when he shot a deer northwest of Willmar on Nov. 9.
But when Tom Schneider flipped it over, he noticed something was amiss.
In fact, it was a doe.

Schneider and his hunting companions saw that the 200-pound animal with the 13-point non-typical rack of antlers was a doe.
He says they took pictures to document their unusual find.
Chris DePerno is deer project leader for the Minnesota Department of Natural Resource's Farmland Zone of Minnesota.
He says does with antlers are rare.

DePerno says the deer must have suffered some hormone imbalance to cause the antler development.
He doesn't know if Schneider's kill is a record for an antlered-doe because there doesn't appear to be any current records on the books.

He says he'd have to see the deer's teeth to determine its age.
Schneider says he's having the head mounted.

There's good news on the home front from Dad's doctor visit!!

We went to Tyler yesterday to see Dad's doctor about his neck problem from the accident. He had reviewed the CT Scan and they say that the situation in his neck is not so bad. There was a fracture in neck vertebrae #6 or #7, but it has stabilized and that's good. He also said that it revealed that #2 had bone spurs on it, which had been there before the accident. The doctor reasoned that what happened to cause Dad's discomfort initially in the accident was that the jostling around and taking the head bump when he rolled the car had likely caused the neck to compress. This compressing led to the bone spurs to pinch the nerves in the area.

I told the doctor that I had been reluctant to change the neck brace because I didn't want to possibly risk messing up somehow (the hospital in Colorado had given us a spare). The doctor told us that based on the CT Scan taken last Wednesday, he didn't see any need for the neck brace now. Yay !!

We had expected him to have to wear it for at LEAST another 4 weeks, because SMC in Englewood, Colo. told us Dad would be stuck for EIGHT weeks with the brace. Talk about good news. Dad found the brace uncomfortable and quite restricting of course, so this will give him more freedom of movement, etc. He hasn't shaved since the accident because of the neck brace. He said yesterday that he wants to go to his barber today and get a shave and a haircut, LOL ! He was beginning to look like a Santa Claus wannabe lately because of his grey beard, heh heh !

Anyway, I just had to spread the good news.

What not to put on your resume...

REASONS FOR LEAVING THE LAST JOB:
--Responsibility makes me nervous.
--They insisted that all employees get to work by 8:45 every morning. Couldn't work under those conditions.
--Was met with a string of broken promises and lies,
as well as cockroaches.
--I was working for my mom until she decided to move.
--The company made me a scapegoat - just like my three
previous employers.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
--While I am open to the initial nature of an assignment, I
am decidedly disposed that it be so oriented as to at least
partially incorporate the experience enjoyed heretofore and
that it be configured so as to ultimately lead to the
application of more rarefied facets of financial management
as the major sphere of responsibility.

--I was proud to win the Gregg Typting Award.

SPECIAL REQUESTS & JOB OBJECTIVES:
--Please call me after 5:30 because I am self-employed and
my employer does not know I am looking for another job.

--My goal is to be a meteorologist. But since I have no
training in meteorology, I suppose I should try stock
brokerage.
--I procrastinate - especially when the task is unpleasant.

PHYSICAL DISABILITIES:
--Minor allergies to house cats and Mongolian sheep.

PERSONAL INTERESTS:
--Donating blood. 14 gallons so far.

SMALL TYPOS THAT CAN CHANGE THE MEANING:
--Education: College, August 1880-May 1984.
--Work Experience: Dealing with customers' conflicts that
arouse.
--Develop and recommend an annual operating expense fudget.
--I'm a rabid typist.
--Instrumental in ruining entire operation for a Midwest chain operation.

Good morning from VA Beach!

Not much going on here, just waiting for hubby to get home from work (he had duty yesterday). Kids are doing fine.

Going to be be babysitting this weekend for a friend and her husband celebrating a wedding anniversary then it's her turn to watch my kids on Sunday, my 26th birthday. Then I rest up for the sinus surgery on Monday. I should be home later that day but I don't have Net access at home so won't be on for a few days after that. *L* Sad thing is that my husband is having two wisdom teeth yanked 3 days before my surgery. Gonna be an interesting week coming up.

On a lighter note, my mom and dad's Doberman wanted to say hi:

Have a great day everyone!

A PRAYER OF PROTECTION

The light of God surround you
The love of God enfold you
The power of God protect you
The presence of God watch over you
Wherever you are,God is,
And all is well.
Amen.

.

Bless This House

Bless this house O Lord we pray;

Make it safe by night and day;

Bless these walls so firm and stout,

Keeping want and trouble out:

Bless the roof and chimneys tall,

Let thy peace lie over all;

Bless this door, that it may prove

ever open to joy and love.

Bless these windows shining bright,

Letting in God's heav'nly light;

Bless the hearth a'blazing there,

with smoke ascending like a prayer;

Bless the folk who dwell within,

keep them pure and free from sin;

Bless us all that we may be

Fit O Lord to dwell with thee;

Bless us all that one day we

May dwell O Lord with thee.
