Algore and Tipper hold Book Signing and Nobody Came
KVI Radio, Seattle. John Carlson Show | Nov. 22, 2002 | Self

Posted on 11/22/2002 3:21:10 PM PST by holyscroller

John just said a station employee's wife just called in from the Issaquah Costco asking if her husband wanted an autographed Algore book. She said The tree and Tipper are sitting there and there are only a couple people there to buy books. Bwahahahahah. I thought this was a "best seller." They have another signing tonight at Elliott Bay Books in Seattle. That should draw a little better among Seattle's Lefties.

This is almost as good as seeing Hillary's book on the bargain table ($2.99 IIRC) within months after being published.

Because Micheal Moore's book placed in front of every chain store and given out like candy to the public, while Sean Hannity's book (if you can find it ) is placed in the 'cooking section'-true story!

Yeah, but you think they'd get a few more people just out of morbid interest. You know, the way people flock to a
car accident down the street.

Funny, very funny!

I personally would rather give myself an appendectomy with a rusty spoon than read one paragraph of Gorebot bilge.

The only thing worse is to listen to Gore's moronic, sing song, condescending robo-speech. EEEEEEEK! Like chalk scratching a blackboard!

True story -- my hubby went to the local barnes and noble to get the Sean Hannity book for me -- Michael Moore's book was right in front -- big sign, big display -- Sean's book was NOWHERE to be found -- DH finally asked a cleark about Sean's book -- she shrugged and said it was somewhere around -- finally found it UNDER a table ! My husband asked why Michael Moore's book was right in front, while Hannity's was hidden -- clerk mumbled something about going by the "bestseller list". Hubby marched to the front, got a copy of the NY Times and showed her that Hannity's book was 1st -- she then said "well, we go by the best sellers in OUR store" !!! Hubby asked her how in the world did they expect to sell a book when it was UNDER a table !! Grrrr !!

Just for comparison: In 1993 or 1994, former VP Dan Quayle had a book signing in Colorado Springs. I bought his book and stood in a very long line to get to him, which wrapped all around the store and outside the mall. (And this was the guy all the liberals demonized as being stupid.)

Bookstores do that all the time. Why, who knows. When you ask for a book that was just published because you can't see it on the shelves, they check their computer and then go out to the loading dock and return with a copy of the book. Amazing. They did that with Rush's books at first, but then set them out on display because they were popular books in this town and they got tired of going out to the loading dock every ten minutes.

MM might be doing like the Scientologists and buying the books himself.

"Who's Algore?"

Isn't he that Viet Nam hero who stopped a bullet with his skull? You know, the self inflicted one. I think he's the same guy who invented the Internet AND "THE KISS." Does that help? LOL

Having read these posts, I wonder if it's the bookstores, or the people who work in them? Most bookstores are large chains out to make money, but their employees are as likely as not to be liberals, espcially in liberal enclaves. They probably aren't very well paid, and their loyalties are unlikely to be to some distant company headquarters.

All the bookstore clerks are university students. English majors. Not an R among 'em.

Same at Sam Goody's, all music majors, all liberals, greens.

I don't think I'd take one of these books even if somebody gave it to me. Books take up space, after all. I certainly can't see myself trying to read either one. And, as for selling it, that takes a bit of time and effort, and there's no guarantee anybody would buy.
