I guess the Nigerian Islams ruined all their country's rosy chances for a future summer Olympics, eh?

Thanks, Bars... I was just checking to make certain the obligatory Religion of Peace protestation was posted. YOU did an admirable job! ;)
To: MadIvan

Wise move by the pageant officals - I was thinking that NO CONTESTANT is SAFE there!

To: Bars4Bill
Nice graphic! I'll be using that.
I've been adding the keyword; see if you can tell which one.
To: MadIvan
Still it would pay to be prudent, don'tcha think?
It just smells ripe for a move. I'm prolly overly cautious or noid, but better to err on the side of caution when it comes to this lot.

No, there are not that many Muslims. No more than I dare say than in New York City, for example. Ivan...I am going to have to disagree with you here. Maybe there are an equal (or even greater) number of Muslims in NYC than London, but based on the press reports I have read since the Oldham riots and subsequently 9/11, the Muslims in the UK are far "louder" and more "militant" than those here in the US. Maybe because they are more afraid of retaliation here than they are in the UK.....they are definitely "bolder" in the UK.
To: MadIvan
Re your #44.
NYC had 9/11/01.
Looks like a possible 12/07/02 for London.
Watch your back, MI.I enjoy your posts, and I hope the day passes with nothing more spectacular occuring than the crowning of a new Miss World.
No offense intended, but perhaps Russia or China would have been a safer and more formidable choice of venue.
I intend no sarcasm. While I am not a big fan of beauty contests, I do watch some of them, and I have no desire to see any of the participants harmed in any way.Russia or China may, in this case, be better prepared to offer the degree of controll needed to successfully air this program. Not that I harbor any great love for either country, but I am capable of pragmatic thought processes in a pinch

How niggardly of Nigeria! Oops, that's two offenses in one sentence against Queen Hillary's Royal Decrees! You're sentenced to a double time at the re-education camp!
To: Revolting cat!
You are sentenced to make a mural out of macaroni showing people of indistinghishable ethnicity holding hands and being joyous! Your mural must contain a least one African-American, one Mexican-American, one Native American, one Muslim, and four homosexuals. Three people who are not African-American must be physically challenged.
Under no circumstances shall a person be a WHITE MALE!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Muslim groups in Nigeria believe the contest is immoral...As opposed to rioting and murder, which is completely justified.

To: Bars4Bill
Islam is a peaceful religion as long as the women are beaten, the boys buggered, and the infidels killed.

So what was wrong with that publication's statement that Mohammed would have married one of the Miss World beauties?
It's pretty obviously true, but it sparked the riots.
I'm not sure if I understand why that is, considering that Islam allows polygamy, and I'm sure many Muslim men are, in fact, affected by the appearance of the women they marry.
Incredible.

Would you classify that as a 10 bagger?

They kill people and burn churches down because they are both evil, follow a false god and are nuts and that is the bottom line.

This year's Miss World contest which sparked bloody clashes in host nation NigeriaWhy do they keep on calling the communal violence "clashes." Sounds more like the Islamists are burning churches and massacring Christians, while some of the more intrepid Christians defend themselves. While there may be a few Christians who went too far, the press reports I've read imply a false moral equivalence between the massacred and murderers.

Does anyone else find it amusing, in a perverse sort of way, that muslims would be concerned with degrading women? Irony. It can be pretty ironic at times. It certainly can!

IM THANKFULL AMERICAN MUSLIMS DONT BEHAVE LIKE THAT. They dont have the numbers yet, when they do,look out. When they do, THEY had better look out.

Who is the Einstein who came up with Nigeria as THE place
To: All
Nigeria has a very large Christian population. I have known a number of Nigerian Christians who have either come here to preach, or to attend school. Our church, which is in a university town, has one young man, 18, from there right now...he's one of the brightest Spirit-filled Christians I have ever met--I love the kid...his name is Akeen.
Off the top of my head, I think the country is about 50-50, Christian/Moslem.
I'm praying for my brothers and sisters in Christ in Nigeria...and I hope others here will as well.
To: MinuteGal
I guess the Nigerian Islams ruined all their country's rosy chances for a future summer Olympics, eh? Unless throat slashing and church burning become the next sanctioned events.
To: calenel
Amazing that someone would say that. I didn't know that those Muslim groups were associated with NOW. Anyway, I guess that the pageant, as well as that newpaper quote that said that Muhammed would try to choose a bride from among the women, was a great reason for them to go and bludgeon Christians to death. Maggots. Wait, I'm insulting maggots. At least maggots serve a purpose, getting rid of carcasses. Those "people" are their own species, a species lower than anything else.
To: MadIvan
LOL, somebody set us up the gloat.
To: Lizavetta
Diversity baby. Gots to have diversity!
To: MadIvan
Hint to the governing board of the Miss World pagent:
Next time hold the event in a country who's government doesn't change hands faster then Liz Taylor changes husbands.
To: Diogenesis
I believe that is the funniest thing I've seen in a good while.
To: MadIvan
What's degrading to women is treating them like chattel and playthings for men to boss around. Islam is still in the dark ages as far as women's rights are concerned. What's ironic is the Islamonazis and the feminazis are both opposed to beauty pageants for much the same reasons even as they part company over the question of burqas.

Nigeria is the first place I think of when it comes to glamor and glitz.
When it comes to Miss Isreal...haven't seen too many blond Isrealis. Is that Julia Roberts?

I am not a huge fan of beauty pageants, but I was never so proud as when I saw these young women talking to the media in defense of the Nigerian woman sentenced to be stoned. I saw one last night on Britt Hume(?) and couldn't help wondering, where the Hell is NOW, regarding that condemned mother? I takes a (loathed by NOW) beauty pageant contestant to take a stand.
NOW is a fraud.

Mohammed would have married ALL the contestants...

"That's uncalled for, rude and unChristian."
How is what I said un-Christian (or rude or uncalled for)?
Is not beauty (and for that mater uglyness), in the eye of the beholder? I just have higher standards than you do...
