On the eve of Thanksging we paused to remember those who are overseas.
Many of our service men and women will be spending their 1st Thanksgiving
away from home, family and friends.
Today military stationed in the continental United States will be celebrating Thanksgiving.
It is because of their devotion to duty, honor and country
that we will be able to celebrate Thanksgiving.

"Be Thankful For The Soldier"
Lord, I thank You for the soldier, that fights for my Freedom's rights, The soldier that saw a way in his heart, to fight my Freedom's fight. When I bow my head, on this year's Thanksgiving Day, A special prayer I will send, to keep them from harm's way. Instead of hanging Fall foliage, it's Old Glory I will fly, And be Thankful for the chance, to stand before her and cry. Each tear that I shed, will be for their family's fears. Lord bring them home safely, for next year's Thanksgiving cheers. Make them see we miss them, and that we really care, And that we'll stand behind them, in this fight they bear. For those that have fallen, Please hold that Mother's hand, Ease the pain in her heart, she grieves for her brave young man. Thanksgiving in America, should be shedding a whole new light, The radiance of the Red, White and Blue, the colors for which we fight. Be Thankful for that Soldier, and their Families as well, When you bow your head and listen, you'll hear the Freedom Bell.

When life's problems seem overwhelming, it helps to look around and see
what other people are coping with. You may consider yourself far more
fortunate than you imagined.

Happy Birthday
A man asked his wife, "What would you most like for your birthday?"
She said, "I'd love to be ten again."
On the morning of her birthday, he got her up bright and early and off
they went to a theme park.
He put her on every ride in the park - the Death Slide, the Screaming
Loop, the Wall of Fear. Everything there was, she had a go.
She staggered out of the theme park five hours later, her head reeling
and her stomach upside down.
Into McDonald's they went, where she was given a Double Big Mac with
extra fries and a strawberry shake.
Then off to a theater to see Star Wars along with more burgers, popcorn,
cola and sweets.
At last she staggered home with her husband and collapsed into bed.
Her husband leaned over and asked, "Well, dear, what was it like being
ten again?"
One eye opened and she groaned, "Actually I meant dress size."

Happy Thanksgiving to All in the Military, past and present
Tonkin, may God continue to Bless you abundantly for all that you do for our miltary.
May He also Bless and keep safe those men and women of the military who have given of themselves to keep us free.
May the Lord, our God, hold our fallen heroes close to His heart in His loving arms for they have given all to ensure our freedom.
May He give comfort to the families of those fallen heroes and give wisdom to all Americans to honor and respect those that continue to keep us free.
Warmest thanks to all of our wonderful Service Personnel.

"A Thanksgiving Prayer"
For all the blessings throughout my life, That I have received with grace, I thank you Lord, for all you've done, For guiding me through life's chase. I've called Your name so many times, In the darkness of the night, And many times I would have stumbled, If it weren't for Your loving light. I thank You Lord, for the angels you sent, To watch over me when I was lost. They cleared my mind of cluttered thoughts, And saved me from life's cost. You gave me family and You gave me friends, Gifts I'm not sure I deserve. But You knew more than I ever would, I'd need them through the curves.
But most of all Dear Lord I pray, I thank You for Your love, Your kindness, Your grace, Your blessed hand, And my eternal home above. I look so forward to the day I'll stand, Beside Your heavenly throne, Give thanks to You, my God almighty, For never letting me walk alone.

Good morning. I'm on my way out the door to begin my trek to Grandma's house to celebrate yet another wonderful Thanksgiving with my family. I couldn't leave without extending best wishes to you all for this day.
We are blessed, indeed to live in such a great country. I give thanks on this day, as well as every day for the freedoms I enjoy.
Military lurkers, veterans, families:
You will all be in my thoughts today. Thank you for protecting my loved ones and for all the sacrifices each of you have made that enable me to make this trip in safety. I hope that you all have a wonderful day.
May God bless you all and keep you safe.

I have not popped in here in a while, but I thought I'd drop by to extend my most sincere thanks to our military brothers and sisters who sacrifice daily to protect these United States.
I get misty when I think of those who, serving to protect me and mine, are spending their Thanksgiving away from their friends and families. May God's blessings come back to you a hundred fold.
Canteeners, have a wonderful Thanksgiving.
Sincerely,
Maureen (who has much to be thankful for)
P.S. Tonk, thanks for keeping the Canteen open! Fabu job!

Eleven people were hanging on a rope under a helicopter, ten men
and
one woman. The rope was not strong enough to carry them all, so
they
decided that one has to drop off. Otherwise they are all going
to fall.
They were not able to choose that person, but then the woman
made a
very touching speech. She said that she would voluntarily let go
of the
rope, because as a woman she was used to giving up everything
for
her husband and kids, and for men in general, without ever
getting
anything in return.
As soon as she finished her speech, all the men started clapping
their hands...

Illustration.
A freshman at Eagle Rock Junior High won first prize at the Greater Idaho
Falls Science Fair, April 26. In his project he urged people to sign a
petition demanding strict control or total elimination of the chemical
"dihydrogen monoxide." And for plenty of good reasons, since:
1. It can cause excessive sweating and vomiting.
2. It is a major component in acid rain.
3. It can cause severe burns in its gaseous state.
4. Accidental inhalation can kill you.
5. It contributes to erosion.
6. It decreases effectiveness of automobile brakes.
7. It has been found in tumors of terminal cancer patients.
He asked 50 people if they supported a ban of the chemical.
Forty-three (43) said yes, six (6) were undecided, and the last one?
Well, only one (1) knew that the chemical, dihydrogen monoxide, was water
(H2O).
The title of his prize winning project: "How Gullible Are We?"
