Sharpton blames Clinton, calls him "first BEIGE president.
THE WASHINGTON TIMES ^ | Steve Miller

Bill Clinton failed to lead the Democratic Party during last month's midterm elections, the Rev. Al Sharpton said yesterday, and the former president is now compounding the party's poor showing by blaming others.

"For him to say that the Democrats failed to bring out a message is wrong," Mr. Sharpton said in an interview with The Washington Times. "He was the messenger, he was the one out there and helped run the campaign, him and [Democratic National Committee Chairman] Terry McAuliffe. So how can he give an objective opinion with his subjective involvement?"

Remember how we'd gripe about the circular firing squads conservatives ran during the Clinton years?

It's GOOD to see the Dems doing it.

If I run, I will be the first black president

Please, please, please make a run in the primaries, Al!!! Please!!!

All the white Democrats (one of whom will eventually take the nomination) will have to fight Sharpton, distance themselves from his hyper-affirmative action, gung-ho reparations agenda or cave in.

If they cave in to Al, maybe five white people will vote Democrat in 2004. If they fight him, maybe eight black people will make it to the polls in 2004.

It's a win/win situation.

Funny article. Interesting enough..... Mr. Clinton said in a speech Tuesday to the Democratic Leadership Council that the Democratic Party lost the midterm elections because its candidates could not convince voters they could handle national security, and that the party was perceived as weak in the face of terrorism.

Clinton is exactly right. When he ran for president it was "the economy stupid". But it isn't anymore. It's "the War stupid". The rats either haven't figured that out... or think they can change the emphasis to economy or soical issues. But they can't. It will "the war stupid" for at least 2 more years.

GOP Governor to End 40-Year Era in Hawaii

"Compared with bygone days, when they were throwing off a Republican elite that fostered social inequity, Democrats are less rabidly partisan, said Pat Loui, president of the polling firm OmniTrak. Fewer people remember times of plantation oppression."

"Democrats, by contrast, look tired compared with the days when they transformed Hawaii, said Gregory Gaydos, associate professor of political science at Hawaii Pacific University. "They did a lot of good things, but as time went by, they... ran out---of steam

I'm in! Where do we contribute to a Sharpton in 2004 campaign? Maybe Al Gore can reprise his role and fill the No. 2 spot for Al Sharpton.

Slogans...we need slogans...

"Black and Bore in 2004"

"Two Al's are better than none!"

"Black and White take the fight to the Right!"

"Al one and Al two will get the checks back for you!"

"Al's in the family!"

"Double your pleasure, double your fun, these Al's are hip, they gonna run!"

"Ain't no lockbox these Al's don't have a key for"

"Al yo' bases belong to us!"

The highlight of that speech will be a proposal to spend $250 billion over five years on infrastructure revamping, a project he said would infuse the private sector with jobs and money.

That notion would be funny if wasn't so sad.....

"Sharpton Blames Clinton"

...Oh how delicious!

You'd think not only after Maynard Jackson was passed over for Terry McAuliffe for DNC Chair, and Harold Ford, Jr. or John Conyers or Charles Rangel passed over for Minority Leader in Congress for Nancy Pelosi, that people like Rev. Sharpton, Rev. Jackson, and other illustrious Black "leaders" would figure out that Liberal Whites don't give a 'RAT's patoot about them or anyone else. Anyone else that is, except those with the biggest campaign donation checks.

Clinton is exactly right.

No, not "exactly" right. It's not that the Democrats are perceived as "weak" in the face of terrorism, it's that they're perceived as terrorist sympathizers, and aiders and abetters of terrorists, which is a different thing entirely from merely being "weak" fighters against terrorism.

There's a vast difference between being an ineffectual general, versus engaging in behavior that borders on treason and selling out -- or at least pre-emptively surrendering -- to the enemy.

You and I accurately see them that way. I don't think that most of the country does though. The point is that the dems think they can decide what the issues will be in the upcoming election. And they can't. It will be the war.

What can the dems do to bolster their Black Base
1. scare tactics about Lynching and Jim Crow --Wearing thin I hope

2. Reparations- and turn off the Indepenedents and even some white liberals

If their Black base falters their are done on the Senate and Presidential level . The black reps will stay in power but be relegated to irrelevance

Only the Jesse Jacksons amd Al Sharptons have power in the dem party and they turn off most other Americans What a delimma for the dems

We want AL in 2004.

Just imagine if we all crossed the line, registered in our individual states as democraps and voted for all in the RAT primary.

Perhaps he doesn’t win, but he does get a prime time speaking spot at the democrap national convention.

I’m jumping the fence if he runs and voting in the RAT primary. The ultimate FReep?

I'm from a part of Upstate New York with a lot of dairy farmers. It's a pretty conservative area (especially for NY)but it wouldn't surprise me to learn that some of those farmers vote for the most liberal Dem available to ensure continuation of their dairy subsidies. With all their government handouts, some of those Upstate farmers are bigger "welfare queens" than anybody in the South Bronx.

No one should underestimate Al Sharpton. He is no dummy. While he will never get elected president, he will have the ability to exert a lot of power. So far he hurts Democrats more than Republicans and, as long as that is the case, I kind of enjoy watching his act.
