And he didn't know he was going to a Buddhist temple to fund-raise either. Ah, the innocence of politicians.

To prove his point, he gave the Sun a contract regarding the appearance that lists the client as “DnmStrategies For Service to BusinessWeek.”

A misprint in the contract. That would be "DimStrategies". English is no longer the official language in Hong Kong.

“If this is true, it’s a pretty severe lapse in judgment,” a spokesman for the Republican National Committee, Dan Ronayne, said when contacted by The New York Sun. “It’s mildly shocking that he’d put himself in a position for this kind of potential embarrassment.”

What a great line that last one! It's only mildly shocking because we're so used to Gore embarrassing himself! HAHAHAHAHAHAHA......

“We were not paid in any way for any photographs,” a spokesman for Mr. Gore, Jano Cabrera, said.

I'd like to know if there is any relationship between the convicted drug dealer and contributor to the Dims Jorge Cabrera and this spokesman Jano Cabrera. Would anybody be surprised if there was?

I checked the Memphis Commie Appeaser, the Nashville Bredesean, the Knox(ville) News Sentinel and they had NARY a word on Algorebatross' STEALTH visit to China.

IF he had nothing to hide he would have announced he was going and why he was going.

As Anne Coulter points out in her great book, Slander, the dems are the one's perennially calling Pubbies dumb, dumb, dumb. Well, this guy has got to be the dumbest politician out there. The advantage the Dem dummies have is that their brethren in the press cover for them 25/7. Now that Drudge and Fox are on the loose, that aint so easy anymore. V's wife.

Did they have their pictures taken with Gore or with a cardboard cut-out of Gore?
And how could anybody tell the difference?

Al wakes up everyday and sticks his hand out for cash. When communists are a leading source of campaign money it tells you a little about the candidate. The only difference between Bill Murray and Gore is that Murry eventually changed.

Amazing how empty the Wall is! I've been to that exact spot (at Badaling, outside of Beijing), and even in December when it was freezing the Wall was crawling with tourists. (The picture in my office shows several dozen people on that stretch.)

Are you possibly thinking of "photoshop"???

Note that Gore is in his Naomi Alpha male shirtsleeves, and Tipper is bundled up, in late November, in China. Must be that the Goron has his own personal global warming kit surrounding him.

No, actually, I'm thinking "security." How everybody else that was going to see the Wall at that time didn't get to because Gore wanted a photo-op there. (Years ago we were showing a visitor around the area; we were run out of the Boeing Museum of Flight and weren't able to go to the Butchart Gardens because some former president wanted to go at the same time.)

Note that Gore is in his Naomi Alpha male shirtsleeves, and Tipper is bundled up, in late November, in China.

Good catch. It is pretty chilly that time of year there; around freezing.

I find absolutely nothing wrong with posing for photos for cash. Gore is a private citizen and not a govt. official. A former pres. or vp can do anything he wants in my book. The Japanese paid Reagan a million dollars for a short speech and appearance AFTER he left office. During the 2002 campaign, Bush raised money for other candidates with photo ops (unlike Clinton, outside the white house) around the country if you coughed up 10 to 20 thousand dollars. A photo with Cheaney cost only 2k, a photo with Doro (W's sister) cost only 500 dollars. An acquaintance of mine coughed up 50 grand to get his and his wife's picture taken with Clinton in the White House and also got a small piece of regulatory "undersight" or "overlooking" that was probably worth about half a million dollars. That was wrong, but a former vp should be allowed to do anything legal and this is 100% legal.

He is not a candidate yet. I may sell Chinese shoes for a living, does this mean I can't run for office 2 years from now. I think 20k for a photo with Bush is worse than what Gore did. The Buddist temple was illegal and wrong because he was a sitting VP. Gore should be in a jail cell beside Maria Hsia for this. But the incident here is completely ok.

Regarding my acquaintance getting some "overlooking". I think the "overlooking" was the right thing in his case even if he did not cough up the 50k. But, Clinton is still a scumbag.

“To suggest that Vice President Gore’s activities in Hong Kong was somehow improper because he visited China during his trip — as has every president since Richard Nixon — is ridiculous and smacks of old school McCarthyism.”

Now he's an ex-president. The fantasies keep getting wilder in Algoreland. And I suppose the "old school" McCarthyism is to distinguish it from the new communist PC variety.

I agree. If anyone is stupid enough to pay me $20k (heck I'll take $1k) to have a photograph with me, I'm willing to take their money.

It ain't illegal to accept money from fools. Heck even conventional American/Christian morality codes as I understand them say its okay.

To take money from CHICOMS is all the better as it means less money in their hands to do bad things.

"To take money from CHICOMS is all the better as it means less money in their hands to do bad things."

Talking of "bad things" don't forget China-gate and the '96 election when Bill Clinton and the DNC wrapped his candidancy in Zillions of dollars courtesy of the Red Chinese!

This Gore/China trip is very revealing. Just last week, Al Gore was slamming the American People for voting GOP in the last election and Gore and Daschele were holding hands while accusing Rush Limbaugh and certain conservative newspapers of being a "Fifth Column" in the USA!! And now Gore goes to shake hands and collect money from CHINA???

If you haven't noticed, Gore is Hillary's mouthpiece these days. Saying what Hillary longs to say. Doing what Hillary longs to do! She can't RISK messing up her Presidential chances right now, so....

Al Gore IS Hillary right now.

Why? The Clinton's have let Gore believe that if he's a "good boy" they'll save a place for him in paradise so Gore is being used to aid the Clintons. And if that includes going to Red China for some more suitcases full of cash...that's what Al will do!
