CNN is frothing at the mouth. It must be a slow media week, for ANYONE to make this much ado about NOTHING.
Sen. Lott even mentioned how ex-Senator Simon (D) had told him HE WAS THERE and did not take Sen. Lotts statements in a derogatory manner.
The people crying the loudest about this, are a bunch of mamby pamby cry babies. It is shocking to me, that they even keep a job OR CAN DO THEIR JOBS if they have nothing better to do than to disect every WORD that anyone says. Where was their moral outrage when Sen. Byrd called some white people "White niggers"?
Where was the outrage when Sen. Levin said VERY simular remarks regarding Sen. Thurmonds run for Presidency back in Sept?
I have stated for a few years I'd like to see Sen. Lott step down as leader, or even minority leader when we were in the minority. But not for this. NO WAY!!
This is just the typical RACIST AGENDA that the Dems are doing to try to destroy the recent gains by the Republicans, and to destroy this President.
If we give in to this,.. we give them WAY more power than I ever care to see them have.
They/the libs, create more hate than I've ever witnessed in my life. How can we as a nation move forward, when they keep stirring up the "race" pot?

Agreed that it's a no win situation....it was designed that way from the beginning. Lott however, started off pretty good, but REALLY screwed up when he started the political crap. He sounds bad....ego won out over brains...but I expected that to happen. I HATE being right.
I totally agree with your assessment of the situation. The liberals will never stop with these bogus attacks.
I am in awe at how Republicans are so willing to eat their own at the drop of a hat. The Democrats never ever do this when one of theirs steps into it.
Maybe if Lott had committed some crime I would be more willing to feed him to the wolves. I am not saying that the Republicans would not be better served by having someone else take the majority leader position in the Senate. The decision and timing of a change in leadership should be on the Republican timetable, not when the opposition demands it for whatever trumped-up reasons.
