Must you put VisaMasterCardDiscoverAmericanExpress logos all over the place now as well?

It cheapens the joint.

Are you referring to approx. one inch group of credit card icons on the top right of some pages? If so, you must have a tiny face to "get in" to.

I know several Freepers that have never donated. Two have turned gay and one now just sits at home and licks his computer monitor screen while a photo of Sean Penn displays on the screen. Not that there is anything wrong with this but just in case you have never donated keep all this in mind.

Your complaint is petty and childish. The "advertising" you complain about here is so insignificant that I have to believe that you are just putting us on or trying to stir things up because you are bored.

Pick up any magazine and newspaper and see that at least 50% of them are covered in advertising. I was just reading WIRED magazine the other night and the first 60 pages was probably 90% advertising. In all, there is probably 30 pages of text in a 200 page magazine.

Turn on the radio to the Rush Limbaugh Show (or any talk show) and notice that 15-18 minutes, or nearly 30% of each hour, is saturated with advertising. Ditto for the TV, if you watch it.

Free Republic is one of the few places where you can come to read about current events without getting pummelled by advertising. And you have the gall to complain about a few tiny credit card icons and a few fundraising threads every quarter (that you are free to ignore)?

If you aren't just putting us on or just trying to rile us up, then you are pretty pathetic.
