Imagine, however, their delight if Bush did NOT recognize Kwanzaa. Most ignoramuses out there think Kwanzaa is the black Christmas. They'd be only too happy to label W. a racist for neglecting "their" holiday.

So that makes it all right? As long as you're doing something racist for political reasons it is just dandy.

If you do stuff because you want avoid the wrath of the ignoramuses, then you allow yourself to be controlled by ignoramuses. If you're the President of the United States, you then let the nation be guided by ignoramuses.

Karenga and two others tortured two women

Karenga was sentenced to one to ten years in prison on counts of felonious assault and false imprisonment The charges stemmed from a May 9, 1970 incident in which Karenga and two others tortured two women who Karenga believed had tried to kill him by placing "crystals" in his food and water.

The founder of Kwanzaa, Ron Everett, a.k.a. Maulana Ron Karenga, stood at the forefront of the black power movement in the 1960s. Karenga distinguished himself as a "cultural nationalist" as opposed to a traditional Marxist. In 1965 Karenga founded the United Slaves Organization (US), a group that would rival the Black Panthers on the UCLA campus. The US was more radical than the Panthers, setting off quarrels between the two.

The biggest dispute between the US and the Panthers centered around the leadership of the new Afro-American Studies department at UCLA; both groups backed a different candidate. On January 17, 1969, 150 students gathered to discuss the situation. Panthers John Jerome Huggins and Alprentice Carter used the meeting to verbally attack Karenga, much to the dismay of his followers. Two US members, George and Larry Stiner, confronted Huggins and Carter in a hallway after the meeting and shot and killed them.

A May 11, 1969 letter in The Black Panther officially denounced Karenga. Wilbur Grattan, the Minister of State and Foreign Affairs of the "Republic of New Africa," wrote to Bobby Seale: "Speaking in the position of Minister of State and Foreign Affairs for RNA, I have always felt that Ron Karenga represented a great deal less than the best interests of the Black Liberation struggle against domestic colonialism, white racism, and world-wide imperialism."

This, however, did not faze Karenga, who continued to build and strengthen the US. Members of the US followed the "Path of Blackness" detailed in The Quotable Karenga, authored by Karenga himself. "The sevenfold path of blackness is think black, talk black, act black, create black, buy black, vote black, and live black," the book states.

The US would not last too much longer. On September 17, 1971, Karenga was sentenced to one to ten years in prison on counts of felonious assault and false imprisonment. The charges stemmed from a May 9, 1970 incident in which Karenga and two others tortured two women who Karenga believed had tried to kill him by placing "crystals" in his food and water.

I think he needed to mention it, but I don't like the way he did it. He didn't need to validate it or explain it's "virtues."

"Happy Kwanzaa to those citizens who celebrate it" would have been enough.

If Klansman David Duke had invented a white separatist holiday in 1966 called "Klanzaa", had his Klansman murder 2 rival white racists in the hallway of a college student union, and then joined 2 of his Klansman in torturing 2 young girls with a soldering iron, a vice, an electrical cord, and caustic detergeant and then spent 5 years in prison for doing it, and if David Duke was now a self-proclaimed marxist who continues to spread his message of marxist white separatism - would you think it would be acceptable under any circumstances for George Bush to have said: "Happy Klanzaa to those citizens who celebrate it"??

No, I didn't think so.

I didn't know about 99.5 percent of the info you just posted, so I guess that makes me one of the ignoramuses. Me and Sean Hannity who I heard say Happy Kwanzaa last week.

Problem is, the vast majority think Kwanzaa is the black Christmas, so that's what it is. Just like Ramadan is a holiday of a religion started by a murdering pedophile, but the President recognized those who celebrate Ramadan, too.

Even knowing I know now, with the understanding that many Americans consider Kwanzaa black Christmas, if I'm advising Bush I still advise he say "Happy Kwanzaa."

Has he mentioned Kwanzaa in past years? If not, you can probably thank Trent Lott for this new tack.

freedom of speech huh?

President Bush and Secretary of State Colin Powell have recently denounced conservative Christian leaders for remarks characterized as disparaging to the religion of Islam.

In a clear refutation of Christian leaders Bush said, "Some of the comments that have been uttered about Islam do not reflect the sentiments of my government. Islam is a peaceful religion, a religion that respects others. Ours is a country of tolerance, and we respect the faith and we welcome people of all faiths in America." He further said, "By far, the vast majority of American citizens respect the Muslim faith."

The London Guardian reported, "Colin Powell, the US secretary of state, condemned America's Christian right yesterday for propagating hatred against Muslims, in what appeared to be a coordinated White House campaign to confront anti-Islamic rhetoric from a constituency that includes some the Bush administration's staunchest supporters."

Bush is going to lose the christian right in 2004 and instead gain the rat vote.

President Bush overlooks 1,500 years of Muslim violence against Christians and Jews, the attacks of September 11, 2001, ongoing persecution perpetrated by Islamic governments throughout the world, the recent murders by Muslim snipers in and around Washington, D.C., plus continued surreptitious and sinister activity being conducted by Muslims within our own country to rebuke Christian leaders.

Many believe Bush is doing this for the purpose of impugning the importance of Christians to the future policies and agenda of his administration. Bush obviously believes that Republican victories at the polls served as a repudiation of conservative Christian principles and is sending the message loudly and clearly that conservative Christians need not expect him to submit to their appeals. It will be more than interesting to see how long it takes for Christians to get the message.

Thats correct. You, GWB,and anyone else can say what they want, that does not mean I have to agree with what is said. But I don't have the right to keep them from saying it. So, some people want to celebrate Kwanzaa, I don't believe in it, so I don't participate. I don't think about Kwanzaa, and I don't really dwell on the Muslim faith. I do stay vigilant when it comes to terrorist, sleeper cells, and the rest.

Sometimes words are just that, words. I focus on actions. What Trent Lott said was to me very harmless, meant nothing, just jabber. But it takes other simple minded people to take something someone says and blow it out of proportion. I replied to a thread regarding this matter (GWB wishing Kwanzaa celebraters well) before I left Texas for Christmas holidays and now I sit in Georgia, almost a couple of days after Christmas and still the concern of GWB's greeting runs rampid.

Pure rhetoric, GWB does not, and could not possibly know what the vast majority of American citizens respect.

Problem is, the vast majority think Kwanzaa is the black Christmas, so that's what it is.

I'm sorry, but I believe in this silly thing called the truth - the "vast majority" be damned.

Even knowing I know now, with the understanding that many Americans consider Kwanzaa black Christmas, if I'm advising Bush I still advise he say "Happy Kwanzaa."

So then, knowing what you know about David Duke in my rhetorical "Klanzaa" scenario, you'd go with the "Happy Klanzaa" statement!? Son, you've got a bad case of white man's guilt there you might want to have removed.

Has he mentioned Kwanzaa in past years? If not, you can probably thank Trent Lott for this new tack.

He's mentioned it in the past. In fact, he sent an almost identical Kwanzaa proclaimation this time last year. I wondered why Ann Coulter didn't call him on it as her article here was originally published in 2000 attacking Clinton for acknowledging the racist holiday. All she did now is add the Trent Lott stuff and changed Clinton to Bush throughout. By doing so, her underlying message is that Bush is acting no different than Clinton in the matter and that he should know better.

The truth didn't seem to matter when Bush went along with the wild distortion of what Trent Lott said and it didn't seem to matter when he recognized a marxist black separatist holiday invented by a sadistic gangleader. All that mattered was allowing himself to be controlled by the race-baiters who have gained control by turning suspected racial ThoughtCrime into a crime that trumps any other - the truth and reason be damned.

Not so. I would not expect "Klanzaa" to be accepted through ignorance as something it was not, as apparently Kwanzaa has been.

So, in your world not only does ignorance rule - but you believe that ignorance should rule.

Are you sure you're not a Democrat?

Funny how the article fit Bill Clinton as much as it fit George W. Bush. Maybe, that was Ann's intention by recycling a years-old article and only changing the names of the guilty.

You were right.......bump

Kwanzaa: Holiday
from the FBI

LAST WEEK, President Clinton issued a formal White House proclamation celebrating the first day of Kwanzaa. His announcement began with some claptrap about preserving "what we value of our past," and Kwanzaa being a "wonderful example" with its "focus on the values that have sustained African-Americans through the centuries."

Except for the small historical detail that Kwanzaa was invented in 1966 amidst the madness of the multicultural '60s by a black radical stooge of the FBI, Ron Karenga, a.k.a. Dr. Maulana Karenga. Karenga was a founder of United Slaves, a violent nationalist rival to the Black Panthers and a dupe of the FBI.

SNIP

Liberals have become so mesmerized by the hegemonic multicultural nonsense that they have forgotten the real history -- the violence, the Marxism, the insanity. Most absurdly, for leftists anyway, is that they have forgotten the FBI's tacit encouragement of this murderous black nationalist cult founded by the father of Kwanzaa. United Slaves were proto-fascists, walking around in dashikis, blowing away Black Panthers and adopting invented "African" names. (That was a big help to the black community: How many boys named "Jamal" currently sit on death row?)

Now the "holiday" concocted by these violent stormtrooper stooges of the FBI is a "tradition," a celebration of the "value of our past." This is not a tradition. This is a '60s psychosis grafted onto black community, while the Christian leaders at the forefront of the civil rights movement are washed out of the picture.
