These aren't clones .... they are illegitimate babies from the Raelian cult leader. Seems like a safe bet to me.

I don't think this group has any connection to the cloning hoax that took place in the 70's. And it was in 1978 as I recall.

I am not hearing questions from the professional scientific community about this cloned baby as announced by CloneAid – or the media is not talking about such questions. Maybe you've just missed it but I've heard these questions discussed in the media. Actually I think the media's getting a bit of a bad rap for this one. They were pretty quick to point out that no proof was offered.
You might critisize the amount of attention that has been paid to this but I think good can come of the public witnessing how such claims are either verified or shown to be false. And it jump starts a discussion of the ethics of cloning.
