I apologize for the vanity post, but I need your help.
A techie friend of mine was layed off has been unemployed for some time. He is low on both finances and food. I found out today that he's been eating only mustard for dinner.
Though he doesn't want to accept welfare, he hasn't been able to find a job yet, and so we've been thinking of holding a food drive contest, challenging the people we know to send in the most bizzare, non-perishable foods they can find - to be judged by him. In order to pull this off, we need some sort of interesting prize to give away. Nothing fancy, mind you. Neither of us could afford much.
So where do you come in? While I won't ask anyone here to donate any food, I'd appreciate any prize ideas my fellow freepers could come up with.
Thank you very much for taking the time to read this.

A pre-Packaged meal that the military serves their troops. My daughter loves them, but then again I think she just weird. lol, Everyone around here has their own personal favorites. + there are quite a few makeshift recipies that one can create out of MRE's. Like Ranger Pudding. 4 envelopes of coco to about a half cup water, heated. etc etc.
Technical Description; MRE's (which are pronounced as separate letters: M,R,E's) are ready-to-eat meal kits. The name MRE comes from their military description: Meals, Ready-to-Eat. Developed for soldiers in combat conditions, these meals are already cooked and moist. No finding water, boiling water or waiting for re-hydration. Great tasting, (huh????) long shelf life and always in high demand and short supply whenever disaster strikes.
I agree with her. I used to take them with me when I was out working in the boondocks. They make great hot lunches.
And since I am being honest, the "technical descript" was pure plagiarism.
You never should have fessed up since you already had gotten away with it. ;)
I liked the rice and pork but I havn't tried the new ones. Never cared for beak much though.
'course, the pay may not be what he's used to. But there's food growing off the trees. Beats the hell outta mustard
Meega, Nala Kweesta!
