Even so, Frist seemed unsure of the full extent of his clout. As he rode the elevator on his way to the majority leader's office in the Capitol, he bumped into Baker, who promptly gave him a tour of the leader's suite, which Baker occupied from 1976 to 1984.

Pointing to paintings of prominent Republicans hung in the office by Lott, Frist asked Baker if he could change them.

"It hasn't sunk in on you yet," Baker said. "You can do anything, while you're up here."

Hillary was trashing today's proposal right after she was given the floor by Frist, Santorum went on a rant, reminding her that she supported this very same bill just a month ago and what is the problem with it now, or are you just playing politics,

Haven't you figured it out yet? ..... the 'rats simply want to obstruct. They have no ideas, no proposals, nothing at all to offer. Heck, if Bush issued a proclamation that 'rats are wonderful, they'd probably find some objection to it.

Love it?! I suppose it depends on your point of view. Those of us who favor smaller government and self-reliance do not "love it" but apparently we are shrinking minority on FR these days. The only question now seems to be how fast government will grwo (helped by the GOP) not whether it will grow. Please excuse me my lack of "realism" for holding these quaint and outmoded ideas.
