"In the Big Rock Candy Mountain the cops have wooden legs" --"The Big Rock Candy Mountain" (attributed to Harry McClintock, popularized by Burl Ives)
The notion that we are better off with impaired police is widespread, particularly with regard to surveillance and databases. I could go on all night. Big brother isn't just now showing up, he's been hanging around for years.
Not to worry the bastards will just place everyone under house-arrest.
You will be allowed out only to work, go to school and of course attend the State-Church. Some will even be allowed to buy at the State-Store but only if you have been previously marked.
No travel doc's necessary, your implanted chip will always know who you are and even more important where you are.
It will come to be known as Liberty-Lite, less freedom, more safety.
