You have to realize that this is old hat for the Fatboy. His first significant legislative "achievment" once he secured his sinecure in the Senate was to initiate "immigration reform." It is the senior senator who moved immigration preferences away from Europe to the Third World. He is the key figure in moving us away from requiring immigrants to speak English, know American history, have specific job prospects, swear that they would not become public charges, etc etc. The swimming senator started us down this road back in '65. '65! Here in MA, they'll keep electing him after his death if no one makes a stink about it.
