The Agenda of Islam: A War Between Civilizations
Unwelcome Truths (Able Danger, OKC, 9/11) -- John Podhoretz summaries them neatly: “So was the [911 Commission] staff a) protecting the Atta timeline or b) Jamie Gorelick or c) the Clinton administration or d) itself, because it got hold of the information relatively late and the staff was lazy?”
Because most of the culprits in this astonishing story of willful ignorance are either Democrats - most especially members of the administration of disgraced President Clinton - or are media liberals, the story is likely to be buried until it explodes on Internet publishing, blogs, and talk radio. But this culpability exceeds even the usual gap between left and right in that it includes many in the so-called “realist” wing of the Republican Party and Republican liberals (aka, “centrists” and “moderates” in the MSM).

This -- from the 9/11 Commission Report at THIS PAGE

33. The group included representatives from the FBI, OIPR, and the Criminal Division. In addition, the U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of New York was given an opportunity to comment on the procedures. The procedures that were eventually issued were agreed to by all involved in the drafting process.

As a member of the Commission, Gorelick has recused herself from participation in this aspect of our work.

34. On Reno's July 1995 memo, see DOJ Inspector General report,"A Review of the FBI's Handling of Intel- ligence Information Related to the September 11 Attacks," July 2004, pp. 2734; Bellows Report, p. 709, appedix D tab 23. Some barriers were proposed by OIPR in the FISA applications and subsequently adopted by the FISC; others, less formally recorded, were believed by the FBI to be equally applicable.

35. On the misapplication of the procedures and the role of OIPR, see Bellows Report, pp. 721722; Marion Bowman interview (Mar. 6, 2004); Fran Fragos Townsend meeting (Feb. 13, 2004). On the OIPR as gatekeeper, see Michael Vatis interview (Jan. 21, 2004); Larry Parkinson interview (Feb. 24, 2004). On OIPR's stated defense, see David Kris interview (May 19, 2004); Richard Scruggs interview (May 26, 2004). On OIPR's threat, see Larry Parkinson interview (Feb. 24, 2004); Thomas A. interview (Mar. 16, 2004). On the lack of information flow, see Bellows Report, pp. 722, 724725, 72973.

37. For an example of the barriers between agents, see DOJ emails, Jane to Steve B., inter preting the wall to apply to non-FISA information,Aug. 29, 2001; David Kris interview (Jan. 15, 2004). On the NSA barriers, see DOJ Inspector General interview of Jane, Nov. 4, 2002. These barriers were reinforced by caveats NSA began placing on all of its Bin Ladinrelated reports and later on all of its counterterrorism-related reports--whether or not the information was subject to the attorney general's order--which required approval before the report's contents could be shared with criminal investigators. Ibid.

On the several reviews of the process, see Bellows Report, pp. 709, 722; DOJ Inspector General report,"The Handling of FBI Intelligence Information Related to the Justice Department's Campaign Finance Investigation," July 1999, pp. 1516, 255, 256, 328330, 340, 344; GAO report, "FBI Intelligence Investigations: Coordination Within Justice on Counterintelligence Criminal Matters Is Limited," July 2001, pp. 3

9/11 commission defends probe -Chairmen: Information about hijacker unreliable

"Al Felzenberg, spokesman for the commission's follow-up project called the 9/11 Public Discourse Project, said this week the panel was unaware of intelligence specifically naming Atta. On Wednesday, he retracted the statement and confirmed the commission had been made aware of the intelligence.

During the July 12, 2004, meeting with the military official, the officer said he recalled seeing Atta's name and photo on an analyst's chart made by the secret Able Danger unit, the statement released by Kean and Hamilton said.

The relevant data discussed by the officer showed Atta to be a member of an al Qaeda cell in New York City from February to April 2000, the statement said.

But the commission knew that according to travel and immigration records, Atta first obtained a U.S. visa on May 18, 2000, and first arrived in the United States on June 3, 2000, the statement said.

Kean, a former Republican New Jersey governor, and Hamilton, a former Democratic congressman from Indiana, said records had been sought from the U.S. Special Operations Command and none mentioned Atta or any other September 11 hijackers. They were requested after staff members from the commission were told about Able Danger during a meeting in Afghanistan.

Weldon said Friday that Atta's name was specifically mentioned during the Afghanistan meeting, but Kean and Hamilton denied that Friday in the statement."

The official was quoted on FNC around 6:00 as saying he met with Commission staffers, mentioned Atta's name and had two briefcases of information which represented only 1/20th of the information availble. The Commission never followed-up.

OKAY, HERE IT IS [Re: Lt. Col. Shaffer/Able Danger] -- To: Cosmo; STARWISE; justshutupandtakeit; Lancey Howard; Howlin; Miss Marple; JaneAustin; backhoe; ...
The MSM may well try to spin it as a function of Zelikow, except for the small problem that the Able Danger info clearly seems to undermine the Clinton administration, not the Bush/Cheney era. More relevant is that the 9/11 Commission was absolutely STACKED with Clintonlite drones focused upon controlling the treatment of intel and legal issues, so we'd have to know a lot more about everyone who dealt with the Able Danger info and might have had a role in suppressing this info. None of these types would have allowed a focus upon such an egregious failure if they could distract attention to something else; and issues of "the Wall" or the related catastrophic mis-judgments of the Clinton years were not adequately addressed by the 9/11 Commission.... WHY???.... At the very least, there seem to be two commission members and four key senior staff members who have a clear-cut conflict of interest between service to nation and service to Bill and Hillary Clinton. Check it out, Clinton drones identified to date on 9/11 Commission and staff:

(1) Jamie Gorelick: Clinton flunky at DOD (General Counsel) and Justice (Associate Attorney General), creator of "the WALL" and key gatekeeper of classified info flowing to the commission members and staff. I have written on another thread that we need to know whether she created any DOD policies analogous to "the WALL" that were still in effect in the Pentagon in 2000, which could have led "Pentagon lawyers" to block information-sharing with the FBI. CONFLICT OF INTEREST??

(2) Richard Ben Veniste: vicious hack lawyer for Clinton 'Whitewater' defense team, Democratic hit-man and all-around scum. CONFLICT OF INTEREST??

(3) Dan Marcus: Senior Counsel for Clinton White House, put in place as GENERAL COUNSEL for 9/11 Commission. CONFLICT OF INTEREST???

(4) Christopher Kojm, had been key official under Clinton State Dept. in intelligence matters, became Deputy Executive Director for 9/11 Commission. May well have had a central role in how intel and counter-terror issues were handled under Clinton State Dept. CONFLICT OF INTEREST??

(5) Dietrich Snell, key prosecutor for US Attorney's office in NYC under Clinton/Reno..... knew of all kinds of vital counter-terror info (due to his prosecution of WTC '93 bombers) -- such info was withheld from Clinton intel officials because prosecutors were on the other side of the Gorelick/Reno 'WALL'.... CONFLICT OF INTEREST??

(6) Peter Rundlet, 9/11 Commission staffer who had worked in Clinton White House, both for the White House Counsel's office and then the Chief of Staff's office -- and get this, Rundlet is now on the payroll of the Soros-Podesta "Center for American Progress"..... CONFLICT OF INTEREST???

The 9/11 Commission and staff was well-seeded with Clintonites with obvious MASSIVE conflicts-of-interest, with Jamie Gorelick + Richard Ben Venisted + Christopher Kohm + Dietrich Snell + Daniel Marcus + Peter Rundlet....any or all of these people easily could have diverted, suppressed, and/or simply ignored vital info such as the "Able Danger" revelations. CONFLICT OF INTEREST????

THE FIX WAS IN on the 9/11 Commission.....

From their own REPORT -- The names of at least three of the hijackers (Nawaf al Hazmi, Salem al Hazmi, and Khalid al Mihdhar) were in information systems of the intelligence community (((NOT ABLE DANGER - ANOTHER INFORMATION SYSTEM??))) and thus potentially could have been watchlisted. Had they been watchlisted, the connections to terrorism could have been exposed at the time they applied for a visa or at the port of entry.

Ventriloquizing the dead - Would Casey have wanted his mother to say all this nonsenseon his behalf? -- Rush read a post from a left-wing-wacko site yesterday saying they need to call Cindy a mother. That it would play better than calling her Cindy. Well, it looks like the msm has fallen in line:

'Peace mom' Cindy Sheehan, left, president of Gold Star Families for Peace, hugs supporters on the morning after a pickup truck tore through the rows of white crosses at her anti-war protest camp near President Bush's ranch in Crawford, Texas, Tuesday, Aug. 16, 2005.
