Ebay has since cancelled the auction but the page was archived by someone else for the curious to view. Can anyone tell if the item is real or bogus.

Looks like lawn sprinkler hardware. This ebayer is in Germany??? How could a piece of the shuttle have gotten there? The guy is an idiot, and I hope he gets a visit real soon.

The item is already taken down by E-Bay. There's more important things to get righteous about these days.

Sick as it is, but very early on, I told the wife, eBay auctions are coming, very soon. What did George Carlin used to say, sick, but funny. Please don't flame me.

Hard to tell which are more ghoulish, the sellers or the buyers. Look at ebay and see how many Columbia items were listed today. Looks like hundreds. Anything for a quick buck....

And the marking on it is for an IRC channel for Quake. Hmmm...pretty suspicious.

What makes this even more disgusting are the times some of the items went up for auction.

A lot of them were posted just minutes after the story broke on the news!

Your right the bidding started before the tragedy. Maybe the seller will do the noble thing and donate any proceeds over what he/she expected to some deserving charity. That what I would do.
