BTW, God may have it in Him to forgive everything and everybody right up to the end. Men are of a lesser nature and need not be so gracious. There are folks who strive to achieve a "Christ-like life", but we all consider them whack jobs when they strive to achieve "Christ's life".
The biggest problem with antinomianism is it takes away your ability to differentiate between good and evil. A man would be better off to be a Budhist monk cloistered away in a mountain top monestary than to be an antinomianist taking upon himself the mantle of God, seeking to forgive the unforgiveable.
That, needless to say, does not make it okay for us to step in and substitute our judgement for His, which is precisely what Kopp presumed to do.

What a curious doctrine. "We can't really be like Christ, so let's not even bother trying."

We do? Did I miss the memo on this?

Phew. Sounds pretty hairy. I guess you have to ask yourself which is the greater sin, trying to forgive as God does, or trying to judge as God does. Kopp made his choice - what's yours?
This is unusual.
Interestingly enough, in that alleged confession he satisfied your narrow sectarian concern regarding "judging" and pointed out that he did not intend to kill the guy - he just wished to cripple him so that he would be put out of business. I presume you read that part - or did you?
Theologically Kopp is "your kind of guy", not mine! He too can be accused of being an antinomianist in this case - always looking for the hidden silver lining in the heart of an abortionist!
Um, not accurate. Really REALLY not accurate.
My suggestion is writing the guy and getting his words. I'll guess he's what basically everyone else has come to believe - an extremist and a murderer.
Then, parse his alleged confession to identify anything new that wasn't previously published.
Then come back and see us.
That is your prerogative, of course.

Sure, I read it. That's the part I don't particularly believe, myself - he doesn't strike me as dumb enough to be able to honestly believe such a thing.

Har har har. I can't help but notice that you believe him when it's convenient for you, and disbelieve him when what he says is inconvenient. How...convenient.
