A nice introduction article to the science of catastrophic periodic disruptions.Other very intersting sites that give more information on this topic can be found here:

NibiruNibiru also called Planet X is referred to in the article above as Nemesis. It goes by many names including Vulcan and Marduk. All the names refer to the same object. Nibiru is the Sumarian name for this object.

Could KX76 be Planet X? This site investigates the train of thought that Planet X could have caused massive geologic changes on our planets surface. It looks at possible candidates and investigates some theories.

Vulcan Effects This site is composed to links that investigates the possibility that Planet X has isrupted the ort cloud and caused periodic mass destruction on our planet.

VULCAN'S NEW ORBITAL PARAMETERS This is a scientific study discussing the possible orbit parameters based on historic and geologic records.

SIS Catastrophism This is the SITE for up to date information on periodic mass destruction and the theories behind it. Because of the very strict academic stranglehold on conventional thought in the US, it makes sense that this would be a British Organization.

FAR SHORES A site that collects articles that point to unexplained events in our remote past.

Zecharia Sitchin He more than anyone else, brought the Planet X theories to the forefront. Taking the Veloscosvy thoughts about Venus and discounting them as not scientifically possible, he developed a theory based on the Planet X event cycles. Using his speciality as a Sumerian translator, he has translated thousands of Early Sumerian astronomical texts that clearly validate the Planet X theory. Many of his predicitions have come true.

Opps! This site is typical of the many that occupy cyber space.

You can also find solid support for Planet X at enterprisemission.com. Hoagland may have his share of detractors, but he is a first rate astrophysicist and his numbers in support of Planet X, especially base on luminosity coefficients of the planets, is quite suggestive.

I don't want to spend the rest of my life
Looking at the barrel of an armalite
I don't want to spend the rest of my days
Keeping out of trouble like the soldiers say

I don't want to spend my time in hell
Looking at the walls of a prison cell
I don't ever want to play the part
Of a statistic on a government chart

There has to be an invisible sun
It gives its heat to everyone
There has to be an invisible sun
It gives us hope when the whole day's done

It's dark all day and it glows all night
Factory smoke and acetylene light
I face the day with my head caved in
Looking like something that the cat brought in

There has to be an invisible sun
It gives its heat to everyone
There has to be an invisible sun
It gives us hope when the whole day's done

And they're only gonna change this place
By killing everybody in the human race
And they would kill me for a cigarette
But I don't even want to die just yet

There has to be an invisible sun
It gives its heat to everyone
There has to be an invisible sun
It gives us hope when the whole day's done

~Gordon M. Sumner (aka Sting)

If this thing suddenly lit up. It would explain the prophecy in Revelations that after the tribulation during the 1000 year reign of Christ that a Day would be 7 times brighter than it is now and nighttime will be as bright as a day.

Then again, if the sun was 7 times brighter. How bright would the moon be at night relative to today's daylight?

but he is a first rate astrophysicist

He is a first rate science journalist. His theories and books are interesting, and haven't been definitively refuted except for a few minor side issues, but they don't make him an astrophysicist.

"This thread was posted way back when... why the re-post?"

Some things ought to be reposted from time to time.

We can either look it as a second start of the solar system or, maybe the rotation, of the solar system around the galaxy, causes it to pass some area in the galaxy that cause this Catastrophy.
