CANADIAN court agrees that BIBLE is HATE LITERATURE

In a ruling given virtually no media coverage, the Court of Queen's Bench in Saskatchewan, ruled that a man who placed references to Bible verses on homosexuality into a newspaper ad was guilty of inciting hatred. The December 11, 2002 decision was in response to an appeal of a 2001 Saskatchewan Human Rights Commission (HRC) ruling which ordered both the Saskatoon StarPhoenix newspaper and Hugh Owens of Regina to pay CAN$1,500 to three homosexual activists for publishing an ad in the Saskatoon newspaper quoting Bible verses regarding homosexuality.

The purpose of the ad was to indicate that the Bible says no to homosexual behavior. The advertisement displayed references to four Bible passages: Romans 1, Leviticus 18:22, Leviticus 20:13, and 1 Corinthians 6:9-10, on the left side. An equal sign (=) was situated in the middle, with a symbol on the right side. The symbol was comprised of two males holding hands with the universal symbol of a red circle with a diagonal bar superimposed over top.

Justice J. Barclay rejected the appeal ruling: "In my view, the Board was correct in concluding that the advertisement can objectively be seen as exposing homosexuals to hatred or ridicule. When the use of the circle and slash is combined with the passages of the Bible, it exposes homosexuals to detestation, vilification and disgrace. In other words, the Biblical passage which suggests that if a man lies with a man they must be put to death exposes homosexuals to hatred."

Janet Epp Buckingham, Legal Counsel for the Evangelical Fellowship of Canada, told LifeSite: "The ruling that a verse from the Bible can be considered to expose homosexuals to hatred shows the danger for Scripture if Bill C-250 passes." Bill C-250, proposed by homosexual activist MP Svend Robinson, would see "sexual orientation" added to hate crime law as a prohibited ground of discrimination.

Oh and Todd.

You are so immersed in hatred, that you couldn't bring yourself to post even a simple acknowledgement of the prayers and well-wishes I offered in your daughter's name on the thread where you let everyone know that she was ill.

You have become that which you accuse Islam of being.

Hateful, intolerant, and ignorant.

I have travelled in Canada. They are extremely liberal, have no free speech rights and have sold out to the radical homosexual agenda.

Canada is on my boycott list, just like the European Axis of Weasels.

It's like being a well-known gunslinger in the Old West....I'll bitch-slap you into nothingness.

Good morning, Louis! How are ya? I see you've come out with both barrels blazing!

However, yes, the Old Testament is a horrible hate filled document. Some defend that saying it "hates sinners." But in doing so they admit their religion is hate based.

Part of the essence of the Old Testament is that God hates sins. On the issue of homosexuality, even after the appearance of Christ on this earth, and the further revelation of God's total love for us, the New Testament makes it quite clear that homosexuality is sinful and abhorrent to God. I know you don't believe that, jlogajan, but many people (including me) do. When one considers the average lives of homosexuals, with their incredible promiscuity, multiple venereal diseases, shortened lifespans, insane and disordered sexual acts (many of which involve the exchange of feces), someone like me can easily see why.

You're right, Gopher Broke. They are PC-sheeple, and they're to sheeplish to even know it. Among their ministers of government include a man who cheated on his wife with a teenage boy prostitute. They're in a vomitous state of affairs. - By the way - great Freep name!

It's the French population's fault that Canada is so screwed up, they pretty much run the show up there. Why Canada didn't just let Quebec seperate is beyond me.

You are very confused, jlogajan, as is often the case when atheists like you seek to critique a religion that you do not understand. Christians believe that God loves everyone, that He calls everyone away from sin, and that He hates sins (which are all a rejection, in one form or another, of His love). Chrisitanity is a religion based on love - and more so than any other form of belief that exists. Christians do NOT believe that God hates anybody. Rather, they believe that God loves all, even to the extent of being willing to forgive any atrocity commited by a man (or woman), if such person is truly repentant. That is a indeed a loving God! God gives the choice of accepting that love to everyone. One who sins unrepentantly has refused God's love, and has chosen to hate God of his own accord.

I wouldda thought that the Westerners and Northern Atlantics would have been overjoyed to see Quebec go (along with Ontario as well). Now it may be that they decide to leave of their own accord. They'd be better and freer for it.

A simple proof the judge is ignorant:

Leviticus 19:17 Do not hate your brother in your heart. Rebuke your neighbor frankly so you will not share in his guilt.

Is it for us to judge and condemn?

Or should we forgive?

I always thought that the real reason for all hate-crimes legislation was to silence biblical condemnation of homosexuality and that any reference to hate crimes based on race was simply cover for the real agenda.

Lavender Mafia strikes again. Tolerance of their perverted and filthy lifestyle is not enough. Thye demand endorsement, approbation and equality with heterosexual mariages.

Oh kid...one more thing:

Hey now, don't get me wrong. I admire the "spirited" defense that you bring to the table, and that you can be counted on to take on all comers...both very admirable traits.

Leviticus 19:17
Do not hate your brother in your heart. Rebuke your neighbor frankly so you will not share in his guilt.

Psalm 36:
1 An oracle is within my heart
concerning the sinfulness of the wicked:
There is no fear of God before his eyes.
2 For in his own eyes he flatters himself
too much to detect or hate his sin.
3 The words of his mouth are wicked and deceitful;
he has ceased to be wise and to do good.
