Calling all faithful Catholics to action against the Governor of Michigan.

And say what? How dare Granholm repeat the same statements as governor that she made as a candidate? She openly courted the gay vote and ran as a pro-abort candidate. She back-peddled on "reparations," but not on those issues. Maybe you should wait for her to do something substantive before we alert the faithful...

She is a typical bait and switch socialist- a socialist from Canada, nonetheless (sorry to my Canadian freeper friends...)

No, dear soul. We keep the pressure up on her office and on the Archdiocese, and by holding the Archdiocese accountable for responding to her we may help Cardinal Maida find the strength to do what a Cardinal ought to do in rebuking an inveterate liar like Granholm. Everytime Granholm shows herself to be the despicable pseudo-Catholic that she is, we go into the streets banging our pots and pans until every voting age Catholic in Michigan knows that Granholm is enemy of the culture of Life and one who deserves to be held to account just as Gov. Davis is being dealt with in California.

When a politician publicly proclaims themselves a Catholic Christian, they have a special responsibility not to lead others astray from the teachings of Christ Jesus and His Church.

In such cases as this, it does not seem unreasonable for excommunication to be considered, if more souls can be saved as a result.

Of course, we must all pray for her conversion, as that would be the best result for all.

I go back and forth on this. You don't pick your religion. You're born to it and raised on it (especially Catholics.) I honestly believe that since Granholm was raised Catholic, she takes comfort in her faith and is loathe to abandon it.

I'm on the other end. I'm pro-life and a Methodist. But it never occurred to me to quit the church of my grandparents, parents, siblings and wife, in which I was baptised, raised and married.

At the end of the day, I suppose it would be best if Granholm quit the Catholic Church and became a Presbyterian. But I don't feel comfortable telling her that.

I appreciate your concern regarding the Governor's standing before the Lord. Perhaps we should all evaluate our own fate. It's just the publicity of the matter that bothers me. As I stated before, I think her fate is the concern of God, alone. Yes, we should all respond to Christ's call, and turn from the worldly ways. And yet, I am not ready to stand before another Christian and determine whether or not the Lord will recognize them on judgement day. That is God's concern. I am not worthy to judge her, because I may not stand up to the same harsh scrutiny that I place her under.

Why Presbyterian? Just curious! :)

What would be best is for her to repent and conform herself to the teaching of the Catholic Church. If she can't do that, I wouldn't wish her on the Presbyterians or anyone else.

Why Presbyterian?

It's the haircut. She'd fit right in : ) Kidding. I picked Presbyterian at random from any of the Protestant "pro-choice" churches. I could have just as easily said "Methodist," "Lutheran," etc.

We are our brother's keeper. God will hold us accountable for not helping a brother or a sister in the faith when our admonition or involvement could have helped her or him to turn from lies to the truth, from darkness to light, from satan to Christ Jesus the Lord.

That's a profound statement and a nice sentiment. But I've seen you guys in action. You scream and and jeer and carry signs condemning the Governor as she attends church.

I would self-identify with you guys a lot more if you cleaned up your act. Try engaging Granholm in a sophisticated debate, without the shrieking. You'd win my respect and look a heck of a lot better on TV : )

Judge not, least ye shall be judged... forgive me, my KJV English is wanting. But, I would think this matter would be for the Governor to handle. How do you know that she isn't struggling through this, with prayerful pleas to God? Isn't her journey in faith traveled with the Lord? Don't you think that she is responsible for her own path? God sees us as children, who are growing in understanding. Don't you think he will illuminate the way for her, should she seek it? Could you survive this same scrutiny? How can you assume that God will judge her harshly? God knows our hearts, as well as our minds, he knows the intentions behind our errors, this does not forgive our sins, Christ alone does that. But his understanding and continuous forgiveness is always there. He didn't just love her the day she chose Christ as her savior, and then turned his back. He guides her every step, from every good thing she does, to every sin she commits, his love is unwavering, always there. Pray for her, if you worry so much about her salvation. But don't condemn her, unless you could withstand the same condemnation.

Be careful. You know nothing of "my act" or how I conduct myself. I vigorously object to you characterizing me based on what you have seen of anti-Granholm protesters on television.

(Repairing my punctuation error, I wouldn't want you to think that by guiding her steps that God was guiding her to sin.)

You do not know anything at all about what is going on in my soul or my intentions, so I suppose I could ask you to stop judging me. We are not islands unto ourselves. We are part of a community, the Body of Christ. God never called anyone to condone evil or sit on the sidelines while injustice reigned or wrong went unchallenged. That isn't the Gospel, and that certainly isn't the faith of the Catholic Church of which I and Gov. Granholm claim to be a part.

I certainly do. I've seen your protests on TV. (Not "you" personally. I don't know you from Adam. I'm referring to your organization.) Your message might speak to me, but you folks come across as shrill harpies.

I am sorry that you think I am judging you, I am not. I see you as a person who is admonishing a fellow parishioner that her path will lead her to the devil. I wonder however, if you know that the devil is aware of the enticement of self-righteousness. I myself would rather be found righteous before the Lord, and leave the determination of the righteousness of others to him. And, with God's blessings, I hope that both you and the Governor will not be found wanting in your love for Christ's Church, alone. Not the denominations of men. For denominations are only tools of division. She needs our prayers more now, than ever. Anger-filled rhetoric will only harden her heart to any warnings that you may have.

I wish I had your way with words. MY first response to a group of strangers shouting at me to give up my church because I'm pro-life would, uh, be different from what you would say : )
