Nah.... billing records.

Jesse Jackson blames Bush for it; someone yelled "fire" because they were scared by all those terrorist warnings last week. A workman on top of the refinery reacted in shock, dropped a tool and it set off the blaze, which is why Bush will be blamed by Jackson for high gas prices.

I agree; it was just a logical extension of the "Reverend" Jackson's comments on the Chicago tragedy, which he is apparently trying to blame on Bush.

Boots and Coots (WEL stock symbol) is going into bankruptcy...Sorry to hear that about B&C. The whole
Red Adair/Boots Hansen/Coots Matthews affair was pretty sad.
...we are currently getting ready to go to Iraq...I wouldn't go to Arabia 15 years ago and I sure wouldn't go now. Same with Venezuela.

Reuters
UPDATE - BP says Indiana refinery fire contained
Tuesday February 18, 2:49 pm ET
(Recasts with BP confirmation)
NEW YORK, Feb 18 (Reuters) - BP Plc (London:BP.L - News; NYSE:BP - News) said a fire at its 410,000 barrel-per-day (bpd) refinery in Whiting, Indiana, has been contained, and added that refinery has not been shut down.
"There is a fire at the plant and we have it contained. The plant continues to operate," said a BP spokesman.
The official could not immediately give details on any injuries, cause or extent of the fire, or what part of the plant was affected.
The refinery, near Chicago, had been in planned maintenance and was to return to normal operations soon.

When BP took over ARCO, they said that their plan was to see $4.00/gal gas in the US, just like in Europe. They said that they thought that their gas should sell for the same price around the world.

Osama called for "secret attacks." Well, you can't keep a big refinery fire secret for very long. What was he thinking?
To: JackRyanCIA
East Chicago? You mean Whiting? Amoco? You mean BP? Yup. I believe this is the rebuild of the old Standard Oil refinery that blew up Whiting in the '50s. Correct me if I'm wrong.
To: JustPiper

There is no Amoco. It is BP. They dropped the Amoco from the name over a year ago. Not entirely true. Yes BP bought Amoco. Yes all the service stations have been rebranded as BP. But the product dispensed at the the BP pumps is still refered to as Amoco fuels ("the name America trusts").
To: timesarechangin
This must have occurred in a storage facility apart from the actual refinery.
