Today we want to highlight the many upcoming Support our Troops and Patriot Rallies going on in our nation. We hope you are able to participate in a rally near you or can make the trip to Washington D.C. We want to show our troops, especially those forward deployed for Operation Enduring Freedom, that in fact America does stand behind her military. We also welcome support for our President, the Commander in Chief. Folks, check out the links and find a rally near you, plan to attend and show your colors. If anyone knows of a rally that isn't listed here, please feel free to post a link to it on today's Canteen thread.

From Angelwood: The Patriots Rally for America IV is a go for March 1, 2003 -- if you can get here to stand up for the troops, our Commander-in-Chief and our country, please do so. If you can't travel to DC, please try to make it to another Pro-America, Pro-Troops rally nearer to your home.
Our sources tell us that A.N.S.W.E.R. is still coming to DC on March 1 (as well as their "Convergence" on March 15). They are scaling back their numbers considerably, but they still plan to have staging areas and march to the Capitol with the main rally at 3rd and Constitution.

NEW ENGLAND FREEPERS: RALLY TO SUPPORT THE TROOPS IN MANCHESTER CT
San Antonio Rally
Dear Mr President: Even as you keep your brave demeanor and tough approach to the current World situation, we surmise that in private moments you surely agonize over the weighty decisions that soon you will be called upon to make.
Our prayers are with you, and our support as well. We know that you will do the right thing, as you see it in your heart. You are a good man.
War is ugliness incarnate, and it is always to be avoided when possible. The day it becomes an attractive option, we fear, then we are all doomed.
But, to every season we must turn. Action now may be the only way to avoid a worse scenario down the road. That decision falls to you and the Congress. It is part of the job description. You must have known that when you signed on.
We don't envy you your task, but we will support you and our fine men and women in the military, as the future unfolds. Support in every way.
Of course, you will take a lot of criticism, no matter what you do. Stand strong. Your strength is our strength. As a nation, that is the way it must be.
God and history will judge us all, eventually.
Best regards,
RG Griffing,
Editor/Publisher San Antonio Lightning Newspaper

Glenn Beck's Rally For America
Locations to date:March 1st, 11:00 AM
San Antonio, TX
Rivercenter Mall Amphitheater
Nationally syndicated radio talk show host Glenn Beck and San Antonio radio station WOAI 1200 AM will host a Rally for America at the Rivercenter Mall Amphitheater.
Located on the gorgeous San Antonio Riverwalk near the historic Alamo, the amphitheater will host a celebration of American spirit and pride.
This event was conceived as a pro American freedom rally, to show the average Joe that he is not surrounded by the seemingly crazy people that much of our media focuses on. No, the crazies are surrounded by you, the ones in the majority in this great land, the decent God fearing hard working Americans that don't sue every time they spill hot coffee in their own laps!
The Rally for America is a group of people that are normal Americans; not media favored celebrities and money grubbing opportunist. The Rally for America is for the people that are the backbone of this country; people who despise war but understand that there are times when we have to fight a war. Both against our enemies abroad, and those within America who look upon the regular average American citizen as something less than decent and caring.
This event will feature local San Antonio KJ97s Randy Carroll, Mix96.1s Woody and Singer Beverly Houston + other Special Guests.

'Antiwar' Is Pro-Saddam
Writing in the Jerusalem Post, Amir Taheri reports on his experience with the pro-Saddam mob this weekend: I spent part of last Saturday with the so-called "antiwar" marchers in London in the company of some Iraqi friends. Our aim had been to persuade the organizers to let at least one Iraqi voice to be heard. Soon, however, it became clear that the organizers were as anxious to stifle the voice of the Iraqis in exile as was Saddam Hussein in Iraq. The Iraqis had come with placards reading "Freedom for Iraq" and "American rule, a hundred thousand times better than Takriti tyranny!" But the tough guys who supervised the march would have none of that. Only official placards, manufactured in thousands and distributed among the "spontaneous" marchers, were allowed. These read "Bush and Blair, baby-killers," "Not in my name," "Freedom for Palestine" and "Indict Bush and Sharon." Not one placard demanded that Saddam should disarm to avoid war. The goons also confiscated photographs showing the tragedy of Halabja, the Kurdish town where Saddam's forces gassed 5,000 people to death in 1988. A 78-year-old Iraqi grandmother managed to reach featured speaker Jesse Jackson and asked if she could "have the microphone for one minute to tell the people about my life." Jackson's response: "Today is not about Saddam Hussein. Today is about Bush and Blair and the massacre they plan in Iraq." Today's FEEBLE attempt at humor:
There was a little boy who had just learned to count on
his fingers. One day his uncle came to visit and the boy
was anxious to show off his newly acquired skill. He told
the uncle to ask him an addition question.
So the uncle asked, "What is three plus four?" The little
boy counts it out on his fingers and said, "Seven."
The uncle said, "Listen kid, you can't count it out on
your hands because someday when you are in school,
a teacher will get mad at you for it. Now put your hands
in your pockets."
So the little boy put his hands in his pockets and his
uncle asked, "What is five plus five?"
The uncle saw movement in the boys pockets, then the boy
said, "Eleven."

"Trouble in Cleveland", leftist of the R&R HOF trying to block the rally. If I remember right, Ohio taxpayers paid for some of that. Hmmm.
Looks like Rock and Roll is going the way of Hollywood, too bad. I'm going to have to "go country"!
I am hoping to make it up to Cleveland with a few others, hope they find a place to hold it.

Can you "block" a rally? Those scumbags have no heart whatsoever! They can rally, but we can't!! We're the ones supporting America! They are the ones who should get blocked for being traitors!

GOOD MEEEEEOOOOOW-NING EVERYONE! Good morning, afternoon or evening to our troops, veterans and allies, wherever you may be. THANK YOU for answering the call to duty to the USA!!
Excellent thread today, snippy. The word needs to be spread far and wide about the Support Our Troops Rallies. A lot of us here know about them but there are some, I'm sure, who don't because they're new to FR.
These are the threads I've been going to the past several weeks to get pics to send to my pen pals overseas. They LOVE seeing them. It's a huge boost to morale. So anyone who's in touch with someone serving overseas, please follow suit and bring smiles to their faces.
I knew there had to be a reason for staying up this late....this was it. But now the wind's gone out of my sails and it's time for this lil vampire to head to the bat cave. Everyone have a wonderful day and I'll see you tonight!
