This is a great idea. The Rats have been having a political theatre where they claim Estrada didn't fill out his job application. Then they go on and on about the economy.

A 24/7 approach would garner great interest and publicity. Just imagine what those Rat Senators will say and do 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Someone will have to tell them that C SPAn is being recorded and the stupid and banal things they say are going to return to them in the next election via film clipped TV infomercials! Also, we will make sure that the local TV in their state has genuine film clips of their meandering mendacities.

Those RATS under these circumstances can't win no matter what. If they prevail the President can claim disgust and make an interim appointment. If they fail, we will still have all those nice quotes to be used ad nauseum on them whenever we feel it necessary.

Better believe that when the Senate goes 24/7 they will fold. By the way, it does not make any difference what it costs (apparently some say just a "prime time filibuster" to same money). We need them tired, cranky and transparent!

She (Mary Landrieu) promised in her campaign to support the Presidents judges and even Estrada specifically I think.

Her words while she was campaigning were, "I supported Miguel Estrada." Now she claims that she's not breaking a campaign promise, that she was "neutral" as far as Estrada goes.

past tense "supported" probably means she at the time didn't have any statements opposing him...
perhaps if he had been brought up for a vote, she would have voted yes. But everything is different now...

Republicans and Dubya have stood strong on several issues.
Dubya was blessed with a Republican majority for only a few months in 2001, before Jeffords switched he secured immediate tax cuts and promises of future cuts. When the 'rats still had the majority in '02, and were historically likely to hold more seats after Nov, Dubya refused to cave on unionization for Homeland Security.
When Dubya got back control of the Senate he sent back the same judges the 'rats refused the first time in 01 and 02. Defense, taxes, and judges, along with trade agreements are, in my opinion the top 4 duties of the President. The rest constitutionally falls on the legislative and judicial branches. Dubya and the Republicans have held true to our principles much more than you give them credit.

First and foremost I am not ashamed of their personal conduct. They don't praise 9-11 killers. They do not take site-seeing trips to Iraq and meet with our enemies. They do not blame others for today’s problems or obstruct fixing those problems for political gain. They do not condone racism. They do not call those who disagree with us Evil.

I am proud of the Republican Party. God Bless America.

Actually I am glad Frist is letting Orin lead the charge, with him (Frist) calling the shots in the background. There will come a time when Frist as the leader of the entire Senate will have to make his presence and weight noticed. In the pre-real filabuster, IMO, it is good to have Frist in reserve. When the real deal starts, if it does, then Frist will come in to end it. Lends him political capital. But of course this is just my opinion.
