I honestly thought you had changed the headline because it didn't match the story and I was wrong.

This headline does not go with the story -- my sense is that Rush was going to do a real number on the Republican Senators based on the Fox Story by Major Garrett. I started to tear into that story last night as the 2nd paragraph was wrong not to mention the first one against Republicans. There was no vote to end debate and Republicans did not have a bad night.

Then I saw all the naysayers and decided not to waste my time. I had also heard last night that Garrett had taken quotes out of context, but no way was I going to say anything.

I actually agree with going 24/7 if things don't change -- in fact, I would like to see them do it a couple of days before the bombing starts.

What I would like to know is why some people are so quick to take a Fox story and declare it factual even if there are parts of it that were easily proven wrong? That includes Rush.

Because sometimes even Rush is wrong and this is one of those times...

I am more frosted at the Democrats for what they're doing to the Constitution vis-à-vis Miguel Estrada's than I am over the anti-war movement.

Rush Limbaugh

I think the fox story was a trail balloon myself.

And I know you know that the Senate leadership says this is a possibility. Absolutely!

I only say this as if it comes to pass, it will NOT be because feet were held to the fire. I believe Sen. Frist is a man of his word, and if says they will use ALL options as necessary, then that is what he will do.

Put me in the 24/7 filibuster category too. The initial Fox story has been bugging me for 2 days now, and unfortunately I haven't been able to spend much time on FR to get the real skinny. So were those quotes (Santurom, etc.) correct, taken out of context, or what? A turnaround in strategy?

Guess I'll get back to my thread-surfing, have another cuppa, and try to get all caught up on this one.

With a question headline, a factual judgment is not necessarily implied. I have a hard time believing Rush was calling the GOP idiots in reality; I believe this was intended as a shock value headline, not as a statement of his thoughts about the story per se.

Consider that the whole point of what he says below the headline is to DEBUNK the very notion expressed in the headline!
